Ok folks just as I promised I am back.I have installed my CNG kIT IN MY navara.I don't as yet have concrete results for you but will definitely have some within a week or two. However the install is simple enough but the programming of the system is the key.So before I give you more let me stop and say It will not be another delivery as what we had when those companies imported their "OEM" kits. Thus far I have to iron out some program errors and I will be back.

is your navara gas powered? or diesel. I understand that the glow plugs dont work when you convert to CNG and you need to do modifications.

We all echo the words of those who know and also of those who we hear saying something that has no weight at the end of the day without testing for our self as to weather a matter is so or not.
I have now completed the install in my Navara and this is my 1st real week of testing after my fine tuning of the software. Thus far it appears I would have already saved half of my diesel already when comparing my mileage and my fuel consumption.I will keep you posted as to further developments by the end of the next week. And no I did not have to make any modifications to my original engine just additions. And no it wasn"t $50000tt.Keep guessing.

Everything works fine in my van.I have my scantool hooked up to monitor all values and also the CNG software has some parameters that you adjust also on the system and you can read back. The van is the Nissan Navara YD2.5DDTI.So yes its diesel and not gasoline.

My pops owns a sportero that came with the CNG kit installed in Taiwan. I would say it performs pretty well. Have not really driven it a lot as its my dads own and only 2 weeks old, but he claims that it performs better than my 07 model.

curtisg wrote:Soon my friend we will have a diesel CNG as I will be installing the 1st kit on my Navara.I will keep you posted as to its success.Unlike a gasoline car which is a straightforward installation the diesel as you know is not a spark ignition engine and would require a little more than just the regular parts you would use in a gasoline vehicle to assist the combustion short of modifying the engine with the installation of a spark plug which will be very costly, time consuming and not economical in the long run.But with the prices of fuel (all) proposed to increase very soon, government is moving swiftly to put the infrastructure so no one will have an excuse when it does.So as i said I will keep you posted.http://www.energy.gov.tt/content/Raymon ... 202011.pdf

Are you converting the engine to use only CNG or using CNG injection for the diesel?

Just an update on the sportero's NGC is currently the only company with those vehicles in the county it comes with a new 2.5cc engine which is slightly different from the sportero 2.5cc...it is being market as a Triton. Dont thing DM is marketing it locally as yet and it is very pricey over 270K ...to be confirmed.

OK guys I did my tests and the Navara gave me 62% savings on my diesel. The install works excellent. You have an increased horse power and a heck of a lot of fuel saving. The install took about 2 days tops and done by CNG Solutions Technologies. The y alsso do CNG Gasoline installs for $10500. which I thought was superb and you have your 1year warranty and service parts and stuff.

Ok there is 2 kits. The kit for $16k gives you about 30 to 40% diesel savings and the kit for $40k gives you about 60+ savings.

No to convert is about $26k but due to the price of cng to diesel it is not profitable for the driver because diesel is $1.50/L and CNG is $1.00/l.So what you save in diesel which can get as much as 69% you spend in CNG 50 cents less.

Like WTF?

I never spend more than $280.00 a month in fuel. Works up to just over $3k a year. Not even going to be spending $40k in ten years much less saving anything. Not worth it IMO

Anyone ever tried the propane kits? Honda hoe fly in here puffing hot air about it in his ranger and years later, nada.

Agreed...that savings aint worth it....need to own that van and run it for over 15 years to cover the cost of the cng conversion........well....that aint worth it.....lost of tray space as well......am sure power would be lost with cng as well.....again wth.....lol...

Just for info, I understand that Diamond motors received their license to do conversions for both gasoline and diesel vehicles. They would be able to handle killersuzuki's job I think. They map the engine and yes, diesel conversion is much more involved than gasoline and concomitantly more expensive. But fuel prices are starting to get real in Trinidad so you can wait or you can be a first mover...

Well i finally get to update this thread! I am the sales supervisor for Ford I. San Fernando now. In the near future we may be doing CNG kits for our diesel vehicles via Burmac. I'll keep you posted as we go along.

CNG is the way for gasoline vehicles, not making sense in small diesel pickups.
