I have a BT50 and a B2500 also, and the BT won't go past 160 for nothing, not on a downhill or night. This was bought new. The B2500 we bought second hand and is reaches 175,got to 180 on a downhill once, but this has an automatic transmission conversion from a ranger. Whats up with my BT?

i think the BT only pushes around 120 hp..it has a lot of torque which would make it pull off quickly from a standstill, but since it doesnt have that much horsepower, it's top end speed capabilities would die off easily and wouldnt be very high..

well....how about the fact that you are driving a van, made for towing and haulin stuff....not a race car...made for going at really fast speeds.

...and why would you want to be doing 150+kph in something that has no weight on the rear axle.....

...if you so want to go fast.....buy a car.. :|

x2

These vehicles are not designed for speed; it always amazes me to see the way some people drive them on the highway unaware of how easily they can lose control. :?

I totally agree with you BUT
with knowledge comes experience and i know personally a van just cant loose control without a reason JUST like a car.
The probability of a van loosing control maybe higher than a car but it just dosent happen so.

Anyhow i thought this was the tucks and pickups section so why everyone just hating??
Let there peace!!!!

So back to the original question.
This week i found a booster chip that gives you up to 40 more Hp but it can only work on those Common Rail engines.
But am not sure if the Mazda B2500 carrys this type of engine.
Can anyone shed some light and whats the difference????

See you want to flame on fellas but you dont even know what kind of engine you have in your truck. This is why you will get pong.

FYI the engine in your mazda is a WLT. This engine is not common rail

Back to your original problem.

How old is your vehicle? Mileage? These things help diagnose problems.

under all seriousness, the b2500 does accelerate faster than your average stock 1.5/1.6L sedan..well from 2nd gear up...

2 things, since others have already mentioned some common sense stuff.

First, if the B2500 is a 4x4, you probably aren't going to get as much high end because of the rear diff.

Second, if you're running larger tyres/rims, your speedometer isn't accurate. Consult this link.

HTH.

Using GPS (10-12 satellite lock), I've clocked mine at 168 km/hr top end (speedometer read 150-155). But running at top end with my tyres (offroad) with gas shocks rattle things loose.

You don't buy a 4x4 for top end. You buy it to go off road. Someone else already said it, but...

 If you aren't going offroad, consider a 4x2 or a car.

 If you want to go fast, get a car.

 If you want to knock through the bush and play in the mud, get a 4x4.

Yeah but i still cant cross 140 d van not accelerating on 5th gear when it reaches 140km and 3500rpm.It just stands right there when it reaches that point.
I think it has to do with the fuel pump(some adjustment)
Any inputs???
Anyone knows a good and certifed diesel mech??
