My Sportero is hitting 30K this week. Bess ride of all 4x4 IMHO.

Heading to Diamond POS for the service.

Any guys know what is covered at the service, and ball park prices, as is gauva season

Thanks in advance.

Glen...

Ok, this is how mine went...

30,000 Km Service, Replaced Oil and Filter (Supplied)
Check Brakes and Re-Adjust, Check Idle, Timing, Levels and Belts
General Under Carriage Check, ...... $263.50

Alignment ...... $100.00

Vat 15% ...... $ 54.53
Total ...... $ 418.03

I brought in my own oil and filter for that service so i just paid for labour
The oil filter is an extra $330 + vat and the oil is about $360... This was done on the 26/10/2007...

Last service i did was on the 17/12/2009 and the service was the same but the labour went up to $340...

Hope this helped

smart move lexx, the firm usually uses a generic brand of oil on all their vehicles, TOP, i think it is and not the good stuff. but the u are correct wrt the service details.
my first service cost me bout $998.50. been doin it myself since.

bump 4 a bess ride tho 0X

lexx, if you had to choose all over again would you choose the k&n over the OEM air filter?

^^^ kriticalkase, The k&n is working great... the only problem i had is that when i when to servce in DM the guys took it out to "blow off the dust" and they put it back in the wrong way... i had a feeling they were going to do that so i checked it before i left and fixed it...
I don't drive in very dusty conditions so it works for me, and i just find that $400+ for the OEM filter every other service is too high... Plus i feel like the truck get a lil faster in acceleration and the turbo spoolin real nice... I did not service the filter yet but when i do i'll let you know how that is... plus i noticed that i get better millage on a tank of diesel. :D

Lexx did they say anything about voiding the warranty w.r.t. the K&N?

sweeks, i remember asking the guys at DM and they indicated that the k&n would not void the warranty. I am very tempted to use the K&N but i keep remembering what was said about the increase particles of dust entering the engine when using the k&n.

sweeks, DM said that they have no problem if the K&N is used...

kriticalkase, I belive that there are probably lots more particles entering our engines through the fuel system with the crap diesel that we use. I don't drive through much cane roads or any dusty places so i really don't think that any of those microscopic particles entering have any significance.

Agreed but that's why you use an OEM filter. Yes you get better performance with the K&N but IMHO the life of the oil decreases more rapidly ... I could be wrong.

Mind you I use a K&N :) but have an OEM just in case.
