Mitsubishi L200 K74 Chassis thickness.

Postby Micky McNally » October 10th, 2011, 8:58 am

Hi everyone, this is my very first post on here,
my question is about the thickness of the chassis on the L200 k74, year 2000.

My problem is that the rear upper shocker bracket (hanger) has broken off where the nut and washer hold the shocker in place, and after a failed attempted effort by a professional welder to repair they hanger I have decided to order and replace the whole part, this means extra work and grinding and I also have to buy a mig welder of my own, but I'm not sure what size welder I will need as I'm not sure of the Chassis thickness.

I hope someone can advise me on this subject, thank you all for taking the time to read my post.

Hi thanks for trying to help out, it was the offside rear upper shocker bracket that had broke off, I got one from Mitsubishi Silver link Newcastle Upon Tyne, they say I'm the very first person to ever ask for that shocker bracket?, I had to wait a week for them to get it in but it only cost (£12) £15 with VAT.

I used a grinder to remove the broken one from the chassis and I have welded in place now using my supper new (Clarke 151 en) Mig welder.

The job was ok to do, the only down side was that I had to remove the rear tail pipe and spare wheel to give me more room.

Thanks again for your help, and best wishes from me and my L200 :D
