Need a Good diesel Mechanic

Postby Rodn3y » October 17th, 2012, 12:09 pm

does anyone know of a very good diesel mechanic. i need to troubleshoot a problem with a navara.

i get a ticking/clicking noise when i accelerate. the noise gets faster and louder the faster i go. it has been diagnosed by the firm as fuel pump noise, which they cannot do anything about because we get bad diesel here. even with the radio on i still hear it.

i don't think it is the pump, i checked for loose lines and heat shields in the engine bay already. any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

the noise i am getting is a loud ticking type of sound, harder i accelerate, the faster the sound is. 2012 navara

i used to hear the same thing in my navara, sounded like it came from the underneath of the driver's kick panel (where the firewall meets the bottom rght corner, where your right foot stays).

Usually happened when it was cold/nighttime.... went away eventually.
Took it to N&M waayyy back when, they were able to fix it and said it was a loose line or something like that.

Occasionally hear the same noise every now and then, but goes away after a while.

firm said it is the fuel pump and they cannot do anything about it because we get "bad diesel" they told me put a fuel treatment, which i have been using the amsoil from long before

strange thing is, so far it seems as though only my van has this fuel pump problem. haven't heard it on any of the 3 different navs i drove in so far.

You are listening for a noise like marbles shaking in a can. At 4 secs i release the x and then at 6 secs when i press the x slightly the noise comes back. It is loudest at 22 secs onwards

this is one outside the vehicle during idle. there is a knocking metalic sound

here also at 4, 9, 11 and 12 onwards. i released the gas and then press it down again several times at those intervals
