ROUGH IDLING....ONLY WHEN COLD

Postby SUBARUIST » November 8th, 2012, 4:48 pm

Fellas, have a B2500 WL non turbo, when the engine starts up in the morning i'm getting a rough idle with some white/blue smoke, more on the white side though, untill it warms up............

checked the glow plugs and they are all good,
used a treatment, direct feed in the pump,
new filters,

and the problem is still there...................

any suggestions?

Is there one of the little mesh filters on the fuel inlet of the pump? It may likely be clogged and need cleaning, simple thing to check....while getting the rough idle, pump the primer to see if idle improves.

changed the injectors with a known properly functioning set.............

cleaned the pump filter...........

and the problem still existed............

on the other hand the vehicle was hardly ever used for the past year, now that it's running everyday the problems seems to be correcting itself !

when last you topped up your radiator water? not coolant, i mean in the radiator itself?
how is the temperature on the temp gauge? have you ever found your ac isn't cooling properly?

you could have a cracked head on your hands. you can have a pressure test done to know.
