from my knowledge the np300 that massy brings rear suspension is different from what others are bringing. massy brings it as frontier np300 which has a 5 link suspension at the rear with coil springs but what others are bringing has normal leaf spring at the rear. Anyone got any thoughts about this??

I'm quite disappointed that Massy chose not to bring the fully loaded models with rails and 18" wheels etc. In my opinion it would have been a more attractive option for buyers.

Well not only that...but if im correct, because massy is brining the np300 FRONTIER as opposed to the NAVARA nameplate, i believe its a different spec...perhaps a USDM spec as opposed to what maska and those guys import directly from Thailand which will be a euro or asian spec? I stand corrected

Oh btw, i saw a couple pics of one crashed this week. Though it seems to be a serious impact, it appears the passenger cabin is in good order. Looks like the crash rating is on point.

So a fully loaded one is a spaceship now?

Not talking about an over accessorized one like some of the foreign hilux and earlier navaras that were brought in by outside dealers...

It's like the full option on the present hilux with 17's etc was a more attractive deal in my opinion than if they were to bring it with the 16" they use in the 2.5

Honestly Mishi, i'm actually pleasantly surprised at the features on the fully loaded model that massey is offering. In fact, if i was in the market for a really nice suv with a tray, the nissan would be currently on the top of my list. If memory serves me right, it comes with traction and stability control, hill descent control, limited slip diff, and i believe i saw a diff lock switch as well. Plus there's a host of other unnecessary but convenient features like auto dimming rear view mirror, auto wipers and lights, rear camera, etc. You mentioned rails, did you mean roof rails, because i think the loaded model has that. As for the rim size, look at the market and tell me how many tire shops sell pick up truck tires in that size, worse yet if you decide to go A/T or M/T :|

If I had bought a navarra last year there would have been some serious beat up over this new model np300.....the interior of the 2014navarra is really poor on comparison to this ....I feel for those who purchased those models last year

Anyone ever test drove both the np300 fronteir from neal n massy and the np300 Navarra from say ROC or Mrampersad? Just want to know if there is really that much of a significant difference in ride quality. Also if anyone knows which HP rating the ones from ROC or Mrampersad comes with? I know those in Neal n Massy comes with the 160HP and 190HP.

I am realizing that once the vehicle is not introduced to the North American market, parts and functional accessories are not available.

The Nissan Frontier - Massy - is made in Thailand.

I am having a challenge getting any literature for tonneau bed covers even from the popular makers, K&N drop-in air filter and tailgate assist struts.

Massy has as an optional accessory the tonneau bed cover made by Pace Edwards so there is a cover that fits, but there is no documentation/spec sheets online - that i can find - for it.

I am email engagement with K&N. They did acknowledge no product - yet - for the NP300 made for our region.

The popular makers of tailgate assist - EZ Down and Dee Zee - i have not found documentation/spec sheets online.

What is interesting is that the NP300 does not have the tailgate hinges on the left and right sides of the vehicle but two middle hinges located at the center of the vehicle. As such there is no pre-drilled hole to facilitate the strut assembly tailgate assist made by EZ Down or Dee Zee.

I did find a YouTube video from TopUpCover titled "installation tailgate lift for new nissan np300 by topup" showing a tailgate assist product. I am not sure I like this product as the strut assist looks easier to install and has a nice soft safe lowering motion. (Compare it yourselves).

I remain hopeful that once the Nissan Frontier NP300 is introduced to the N.American market these accessories will become mainstream.

Need your feedback on:

1. Turbo Timers
Who, Where (East), How much.
Required: neat, professional and knowledgeable install. Needs to integrate seamlessly with installed alarm, that is: vehicle is ignition switched off, alarm armed/doors lock and turbo timer runs for x mins and then switches off engine and alarm remains armed.

2. First time morning/long idle start:
How many of you allow the vehicle to idle before drive.
How long do you idle for
Is this even necessary for a new diesel vehicle.

I test drove the np300 at massy and the new Toyota hilux with 3.0 engine and the Nissan had it over the hilux, on a couple of things:
Engine response
Rear seat ride comfort
Seat comfort (Upolstery)
Rear reversing camera
Design ( subjective)
Servicing costs both parts and labour
Price $266 as opposed to $269
That's my reasons right there.

Had the same opinion of the D40 Navara when I test drove it .... 5 years ago.
Navara > Hilux when it comes to power/price/affordability/value for money.

Same trend happening now with the NP300.
