help: 2009 bt-50 ABS

Postby elantra » April 25th, 2019, 8:03 pm

Good day folks looking for any assistance/ideas to an abs light on dash. I checked a few electricians no luck ..lalchan.. Jerry etc

Scan not communicating to give error so trial an error
Swapped abs pump and sensors onto another bt50 all equipment worked.
Checked all wheel sensors up to abs pump, all good.
Checked harness as a comparison, voltage at pins all the same as an abs working bt-50
Changed all the relays
Changed instrument panel, light still on

Some one mentioned the clock spring on the steering can bring on the light I am not sure. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks

Why isn't the scanner communicating? Also, it might seem dumb, but do you have enough brake fluid in the reservoir?

Not sure why it's not communicating, that's all the reader says. The obd port has 4 wires. Ground. Signal power not sure on the other. But all is good. At this point nothing is dumb na pal I checking anything lol, Fluid is good.

I not sure how the abs is setup on the bt, but it probably has a separate abs ecu. If there is a communication issue, check for continuity between the ecu and the diag port and well you could also swap the ecu as you have a "parts van"

Hey fellahs I got through with issue. It was the yaw sensor. Located below the driver seat.
The reason for the non communication with the reader was the +12v pin on the obd port was oxidized hence no contact. The electrician had check from where the wire was entering the port not from below where the jack plugs in. I cleaned it up and some electronic spray. Works perfect now.
