PLEASE NOTE EVENT ON JULY 31ST HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL AUGUST 28th (SEE ABOVE POST)
Dear Fans, Drivers and unsuspecting public who do not yet know they will fall in love with drifting,
It is with regret that we must postpone Drift Motion III. We have been directed that TTASA is currently investigating and working with the authorities to understand the tragic accident that took place last week at Wallerfield. Whilst efforts were made to complete investigative activities which would allow the event to go on; we have been made aware that more time is needed.
The members of the Trinidad and Tobago Drift Association (TTDA) would like to convey our sympathies to those injured and their families and wish them a full and speedy recovery.
Motor sports bring with it inherent risks and the TTDA also wishes to underscore that every effort is taken to mitigate these risks and ensure the safety of our participants, staff and loyal spectators.
This is achieved through our continued assessment of the dangers associated with the event and evolving procedures for dealing with same. A review is being undertaken now and though the reasons spurring this are regrettable, we believe that arising out of this; gaps can be addressed to minimize the likelihood of re occurrence.
