Well Guys.... the 2014 Easter Experience with 4 trails on the schedule and Manzanilla Beach being our destination.... had the participation of some 20 rigs, from stock to modified, with first time offroaders to experienced drivers.... engaging in almost 12 hours of activity....
With an early rainfall and not daunted by the threat of dark skies, we met at the assembly point made acquaintances (as there were some new faces), had our briefing and departed for the first trail. Deciding not to alter the route, we pressed on, comraderie and experience would be tested as we overcame the challenges even with more rain changing trail conditions.
Our exit was a few hours later than we expected, but the group decided to quickly move to our second scheduled trail. This trail seemed too easy as one of the more challenging obstacles was cut/ graded by a tractor, but the modded rigs made good use of the terrain, looking for the more difficult drives.... even enticing some of the stock rigs, some of which tried the challenges.
Our exit, more rain and loosing sunlight some of the group decided to part company. We were now basically left with modded rigs, and they decided to hit the hard core run.... with one guy hard pressed to redeem himself.
Pressing on and reaching the trail, the challenge would be exacerbated as it seems that area had plenty rainfall.... Setting up lighting etc, we braved the terrain, taking on the water, slick surfaces and silted trenches, we would be out by 9:30pm and the group would decide to call it a day.
We still haven't reached Manzan.... probably next run!!! Summer???
Special Thanks to All who Participated....
