DECEMBER 5th. Your views??
AutoSport’s D&W Event #7 is carded 20th September at the ARC Car Park. The briefing meeting will be held on Wednesday 16th September at the Central Regional Indoor Sport Arena, Chaguanas at 7:00pm in the Conference Room.
At #6 competitors would have confirmed their running Classes for the remainder of the year, making execution of sessions much easier. Facilitating extra runs, leading to tyres being worn out and then coming back to the finals where all finalists had the opportunity to run for best two in three to determine winners. While those in serious contention for Class Champions have to stay in Class, those out of the running are free to move to another Class where they may feel more competitive…. but CANNOT move with points earned to date.
We do have our current points standing showing some close competition and as of now everyone in contention will be seeking to get every 10-points available to be declared Class winners and possibly Overall points winner. And the close scrutiny by all to ensure no one gets an undeserving 10 points extra.
We are also now seeing that separate competition for Best Reaction Time producing the very first winners with perfect 0.00 reaction times. First done at D&W #4 by Anil Mack and the ever-consistent Olatunji Rudder-Fisher gradually moving from 0.003 to 0.001 and at #6, his best RT of 0.000 to date. Some have really learnt the correct technique for getting off the start line and matching the appearance of the Green Light.
Most interesting to see the majority of entries in the TTASA “Super Car” Circuit Race on 31st August, are the main competitors coming out of the AutoSport Drag and Wind Events, this we shall speak more about in a separate feature, on the exposure of a whole host of new and younger Motor Racing competitors who have been getting a good grounding in the ARC “Car ParK”, and then moving up to the next level of Circuit Racing.
And the untold story of cooperation amongst our D&W competitors, where Alistair Rahamut was very supportive of Brandon Steele the night before that event with good advice, and even tyres – true sportsmanship coming to the fore once more. And we again saw Alistair, this totally unknown a few years ago coming in to his own at the AMD promoted Time Attack on the 13th Sept at Wallerfield giving a fully prepared Group 3 car a run for his money.
And what about Venus Miller registering a creditable second place in the 8-lap race.
WE all have our talents and inputs in the development of Motor Sport as we all move forward in our respective spheres.
