Well the vehicle was purchased through a company auction, so it was dealer maintained previously. What was added, was sidesteps, new tail lights(it came with crappy clear faded tai lights), a small audio system, and changed the rims to the new sportage design( really makes a difference in appearance)

One issues was it used to stall when kick down to accelerate, this was fixed by replacing the diesel filter. My cousin is a mechanic so he does all the minor stuff. If I have any serious problem, I go to a kia specialist mechanic in monkey town, barrackpore. He deals with mainly kia and Hyundai.

He suggested the that oil changed every 5000km or 6 months regardless of mineral or synthetic oil and the fuel filter be changed every 3 months

Good info there, could you pass on the mechanic number to me?
Do you get the fuel filter to buy out of the firm?
I usually buy all the parts in southern sales.
Looking to install a side step also.

I buy the filter at the auto supplies in my area, alot of them carry many kia parts now. Last time I changed mine myself, After some cuss and sweat I got through, it's really simple when you learn little tricks. The mechanic's name is khemraj, 756-9573.
I got the side steps from auto Korea tt, they told me they do the supply and installation for southern sales, you can check them out online, they include installation with their price. http://www.autokoreatt.com/

Could be bunch for stuff from injectors to filters and bad case is crack head.
But before you do expensive changes. Check the simple stuff first.
Injectors .
Filters.
Weak battery.
Give more info. Is it smoking? Lost of radiator water?
..

I have used the Sakura before and a korean replacement, I really didn't see any difference. As i said I used to change filter every 6 months and the diesel still used to come out clean.

You can take off the pump and carry it to Sookhai's. They will rebuild it. I did mines there for $1700 and got three months warranty.
