India and Bangladesh brace for the strongest storm ever recorded in the Bay of Bengal

(CNN)Millions of people in India and Bangladesh are in the path of a super cyclone which is due to make landfall in less than 36 hours, bringing damaging winds and heavy rain to a region already struggling with the coronavirus pandemic.

Super Cyclone Amphan became the strongest storm ever recorded in the Bay of Bengal on Monday night, after intensifying with sustained wind speeds of up to 270 kilometers per hour (165 miles per hours), according to data from the US Joint Typhoon Warning Center.

Lol............yea not disputing anything nah. I got on my dash cam once driving into and out of hard rain (almost no visibility kind) on the UBH and the delineation b/t rain to no rain was so stark. And the weather was moving E/W so that separation likely would have remained.

Remember last year how the highway by Trincity/Arouca was flooding when it rained that side. I hope they fixed that.

TS Cristobal has formed. Small parts of Mexico will be affected. The interesting aspect of this storm is where it started its formation

Right now on Page 1 i'm seeing a large Tropical Wave featuring about 1 day to the east of Trinidad.
Hope the Met Office issue a bulletin so we know it's opposite.

Yellow Level Alert: Prepare for Tropical Wave, says Met Office

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service issued a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert on Thursday, warning of a 70 percent chance of heavy showers and/or isolated thunderstorms which may affect the country from 3.00 am to 4.00 pm on Friday.

"This wave will be affecting Trinidad and Tobago and its marine environment particularly to the east, from tomorrow (Friday 5th June, 2020) during the wee hours of the morning.

"There is a 70% chance that the wave will bring heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds in excess of 60 km/hr. You can expect street flooding and local ponding in some areas."
