It happened...lol....they were going for the win until Pant gave his wicket away. After that was play for the draw. At one point I saw Vihari at 7 from 100 deliveries

This match was quite good notwithstanding the lack of a result.
Glad to see some of the other Indian batsmen come forward with Rahane failing.

India's next problem now is determining if Jadeja's series over with his dislocated thumb. He has shown to be quite invaluable with bat, ball and fielding and there is no like replacement for him in the squad and India would be unable to fly in any replacement because of the bubble. The squad is already quite thin given the injuries to Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and KL Rahul to injuries, and Kohli through paternity leave. Agrawal and Yadav are the remaining players who can realistically replace him.

Looks like tim paine might be in some hot water following in his comments made against the India batsmen. Last test gonna be epic but the Aussies already have the upper hand

The Aussie are real puzzys and are a shame to the spirit of the game.
Paine over the top sledging and Smith was caught on stump cam removing Pant's batting guard marks.
Mothafcuking Smith who served a 1 year ban for ball tampering now tampering with the other side's batting. Clearly he learnt nothing!!!

India need 324 more runs on day 5 to win, Australia needs 10 wickets.
India wins or draws they keep the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
A possible top two spot and a place in the world test championship finals also up for grabs. Australia should they not win the series would require to win at least 2-1 in their next tour to South Africa to get into the test final

Nah, Australia playing for a win. They have enough runs on the board to maintain 3 slips and a gully and silly mid on/mid off when required.

Who watching the game now?

Australia almost in tatters and tears.

India needs 24 runs from 36 balls with 5 wickets in hand. What a fantastic test match.

India playing one day cricket at the end of this test match.

Now 15 runs from 32 balls.

10 from 26
Wicket 6/318

6 from 23
5 from 22
3 from 21

Wicket 7/325 - Meh heart can't take this WI thing from India

Pant hits a 4 - INDIA BEATS AUSTRALIA BY 3 WICKETS

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE COMEBACK FOR INDIA FROM 36 ALL OUT IN THE FIRST TEST TO BEAT AUSTRALIA 2-1.

PLENTY CHESSBUN FROM THE AUSSIES NOW!

India played without
Kohli
Dhawan
Bhuvi
Bumrah
Shami
Umesh
Ashwin
Jadeja
Rahul

And created a big victory. Pant played an innings of his life...good stuff yes

To be fair they last picked Dhawan and Bhuvi for a test in 2018. Neither are part of their test setup anymore and Rahul is also not consistently selected which given his average of 35 after 36 tests in kinna understandable.

But now they have a real quandry.....the 2nd XI bowling line up showed that they can bat and they can bowl.
With the exception of Bumrah I would be worried about the competition for places

This last match could as a real teaching tutorial for many teams including the West Indies.
A real display of team commitment, guts, management of emotions and focus on the prize.
Pujara, Gill and Pant embodied what winners are made of.
The 5th day of this match is a 'must see' for anyone who missed it.

Pujara is ole school, you dont see players like him anymore , maybe because of IPL , T20 etc. Not good signs for the Windies for the next few years if IND & Aus keep churning out young players like they have. Gill and Pucovski have outstanding technique and timing as opening batters

WI need a mind coach like they had in their heyday with Dr. Rudi Webster and they need to change their selectors and coach.

Otherwise, is only salt we will continue to suck.

Something that doesn't get enough prominence is how much tours India's A Team does. Their A Team played the most A Team tests of all the nations and Gill, Pant, Vihari etc all would have been on the A Team for substantial periods at some point.
In fact Gill made an A Team Double hundred at the BLCA in Tarouba in 2019 when he was still a teenager

Lost by 6 wickets.

A WI side that cannot bat against spin. Somebody should create a dancing class for them fellas. Lara, Richards, Kallicharan, Sobers should be the dance masters.

They also need a proper psychologist. Plenty of the WI problems lie in their minds. Simmons cannot do it.

This series is WI and Bangladesh's first matches in the World Cup Super League. This is a new format being used to determine WC spots.
At the end of the two year cycle consisting of 24 matches equally broken up into 12 home and 12 away matches the top 8 teams would qualify directly for the 2023 WC whilst the the bottom 5 go the Qualifiers (The super league is all the test nations +Netherlands).
WI have to come real good to be in that top 8 at the end given how horrid their ODI record is especially away from home as well as if the best players continue to pick and choose tours.

I had to come back to this comment.

WI get another proper cut-arse from Bangladesh today.

They made 148 all out batting first in 43.4 overs. Mind you, at one point they were 88/8.

Bangladesh made 149/3 in 33.2 overs.

No mental fortitude at all.

Fokhan_96 and Shakes were so right.

This is the the WI's 7th consecutive loss to Bangladesh in ODIs.
Maybe the problem isn't this 3rd string team

I did not know this. You have a good point. Bangladesh is simply better than the WI in 50 over ODI's.
