I have 99 EK3 sedan with tranny and no mods it is the same as when it came out the firm. I am using Super gas.
Question
Sometimes on the highway, when the car passes the 130km/h mark and its almost approaching 140km/h, a weird noise is heard. A noise I believe is coming from the engine area (I could be wrong) so I'll back off the accelerator and drop to 115-120km/h.....the noise stops.
The obvious solution to this is to slow down, which I do. But there are certain sections on the highway that you have to take it easy and some where you can "speed up". Sometimes you be cruising at say 120/130 and still see those bright lights in your rear, no problem an easy maneuver into the left lane........everyone is happy:I just want to be sure its not a major issue.
My mech told me that my car, in his opinion is in tip shape and it is probably because I am using Super. This is plausible but I want to get other opinions.
Have anyone else experience this?
Thanks to all
