Sundown Audio E8, assuming you can get them (all sold out at the dealer).. I tested mine today for the 1st time and was blown away by the low end response of the thing! It's massive suspension kept the sub's excursion under control even while I was playing notes well below the enclosure's tuning frequency.. It's basically an over built beast..

The JBL GTO 8" and RE 8" are very good sounding drivers as well.. when playing single, they not that loud, but 4 of these together in that Mini should sound great once properly installed!

i personally own 4 tc 1000 8's, they are the BEST period in 8's i've used

some other great 8's are-

dd 1500
american bass xd 8
rf p3/p2
sundown audio sa 8 and e8
t3 t200

the re is ok, not really a loud output driver, had a few in my life

but as i said, the tc 1000 8 is the best i've used in both output and quality , hands down

Call me crazy eh (no seriously plez do) but after seein the mini JL audio had taken to sema or SBN(cant remember, was silver with slash amps) I always had the impression I could fit 3 8'' in the backdash area of the car, either ported or sealed. I still have that paper draw up with the box and everything shoot me a PM with your email, Ill see if I could forward it to you.

Sure itll take some work but save your backseat man, dont rip it up unless you gonna put a wall back there. I mean its your daily, its a MINI, pick up a buddy, few chicks, head up maracus and on the way buss a lil cocoa tea 8-) .. The problem with a mini is that its so damn small that you HAVE to get creative to add some music in there  BUT at the same time, thats an advantage(so simple I slapped myself when I figuered i out)

If you want, gimme a pm, I own a mini and have a some experience with the 8'' sub category(so ironic eh)..

Just a thought - instead of going with smaller drivers, you could use a larger driver (like 10s or a 12) and slot-load it through the rear package tray. You'll use a good portion of your trunk space, but you'll keep your back seat and should get an enormous amount of bass.

Image dynamics 8" heard 3 of them in a 1.3 cu box. The bass was like wow!!! Check Kaizen Autosound on the forum he has them for sale and can also give a demo. You will be impressed.

you can't go wrong with 2 10" dc....but maybe you should take into consideration which size of speaker you would be able to do a proper enclosure for....it doesn't make sense buying really nice subs and you don't have the cubic capacity...best bet are those jl 6inch or the sundown e8...or if you can fit the dc....the american bass are nice subs too if you looking to save some $$$.....

kool...but just a hint...notice they said suggested?...well...i'm not saying to deviate from the manufacturers' specs but sometimes you can have a bigger or smaller enclosure....i own an 18 level 4 and i have it in my frontier...

the box is a 7 cubic because i wanted the lows...a mistake i made though bcuz i can only go low...now notice that they suggested 5.75cuft for my sub...

i guess you see my point...determine what you want to achieve first of all...do you want lows??...or to park up and shake the crowd....lol...dc's are nice subs though and please post pics of your build...i think everyone would like to see your creativity with the mini...

an 18''in a frontier, thats mad man, how you get them 7 cubes, you use the whole back?

i have a frontier as well, im thinking bout doing over the back rest with either 4 8'' or 2 10'' subs, and i dont want it to bulk out too much cuz there's hardly any space in the back...the enclosure is coming up to approx. 2.5cu ft. my options for the subs are still open...any advice?
oh sorry for spamming the thread tho..

u built d enclosure already??
that is perfect size for a hifonics olm1612 or 2412 dependin on hw much money u willing 2put out for an amp. i am currently running a olm1612 an dam dos subs get on they play real clean and loud and temporarily im not givin them as much power as they crave im drastically underpowering them....but stil those subs are real nice...they cant really compete too much wid d dds or those subs bt dese play realll good 4 d buck..

nah , not yet...wanna buy the subs first b4 building the box, cuz i want the box to be as shallow as possible, so ppl could sit comfortably, and different subs have different mounting depths....
i have a 1200rms amp, so it wouldnt make any sense putting any high end subs cuz they would be getting under powered.
whats the average price for the hifonics?

hmm interesting thread based on the responses i'm reading, surprisingly no off topic posts so far

imo, wrt to the frontier, if you have 2.5 cuft to play with, then essentially you actually have the following choices-

four 8's in a small ported box
two 8's in a large high efficiency ported box(will allow u to use a pair of high powered subs)
2 or 3, 10's sealed
2 12's sealed
1 10 or 1 12 ported
1 15 sealed
