4 new Nexen 265/70/16 Rodians - paid $650 each installed. They seem decent so far.

The Duelers I had before lasted me 2.5 yrs and I got about 25000km from them. Smooth ride but poor traction..

the duelers are the worst - i don't think it is a tire for our tropical climate - amazingly the cheaper brand tires are holding up better than the brand name ones - i don't know if it is the climate or the type of road conditions we have here but this is what i experience first hand..even the H/t Tires - the Roadstone hold the road better than the Michelin's - again - just my opinion

current ratings from tirerack.com

Image

BTW, "top of the list" does not necessarily mean "top of the line"

...compare the total miles reported to the ratings on the tire

I wonder if they have Firestone Destination A/T's to work on the Hilux....
Stock tires are 265/65/R17 Duellers H/T 684 II
Kinda wondering whats the biggest size I can go with on the Stock 17 rims without touching the fenders when on full lock etc.....
A/Ts of course.
Anyone?

Yeah Phoenix, that looks about right, smaller wheel --> higher profile. But check to see if there is any major suspension/brake differences between what you had before and what you have now.....

......or you might get the "one way rub" RT is having on his D22

Hey I don't understand it myself...
Maybe it is the extra weight of the driver.... :D
I would love to go back with 275 70 but I work in POS so I need the extra lock at times. :(

I know a lot of people HATE duellers that come with alot of the new trucks but do any come with the Dueler A/T REVO 2.

If they don't come with this tyre has anyone ever used one in Trinidad. This is getting alot of good reviews out there.

To those who bought rims for their truck,

- Where did u buy them?
- How Much?
- What tyres do you use
- how long you had the rims now?
- any suspension problems for rims over 17-inches?

Thinking of getting some 17's or 18's for the frontier, but wanna know where has the best prices. Nothing chrome though - going more for the alloy or polished aluminium look. More "sporty" than "bling".

Peace!

Hey guys there are ways to get an automatic discount at some of these tyre shops.
Master Serv Limited (5% off on all parts & labour)
Mileage Mack Ltd. (10% Discount applies to all services i.e. balancing, fitting, alignment, and all front end work. Discount does not apply to any of their products)
The Tyre Centre 12%
http://www.medicardlimited.com/
A medicard cost $200 for the most and you could save more than that at some of these tyre shops.
(I do not work for Medicard)

Passed in Masterserv, Laventille yesterday morning.
They are now dealers for Pirelli tires.

Went and priced a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATR's - $1135 each, 245/70/16 (non-white lettering)

Also available in white-lettering

They don't have any 265/70/16's in stock right now though.

I saw pricesmart Trinidad Online website selling tyres to. U guys should check it out, but I find the site cost is high. I have some experience to share with u, I am not an expert so don't bite my head off.

Frontier 4x4 2.5 turbo- came with BRIDGESTONE, never hold the road good especially in wet road. DUNLOP- Best ride and comfort, last only 6 months. ROADSTONE good ride, can't take bad road or off road this tyre bends easily. MICHELLIN- excellent, disadvantage is very VERY rough ride when the beads are low, rougher than other brands of tyres that had low beads and Michelin low beads take forever to wear out at a stage for the tyre to be replaced

So in my ranger, I am trying to run out the bridgestone, which seems as though its never going to get runout cause I am doing 25K and the tyres are like new. I am considering TOYO, KUMHO or NEXEN when installing new tyres. Which brand do u guys suggest? (I am not a off road driver so I want something that last long, but holds the road and rides comfortable.

From anecdotal reports - Kumho >>> Nexen. The Roadventure A/T from kumho are excellent on the highway, haven't had much of a chance to test them off-road yet.
Got the set of Kumho Roadventures All-Terrain with white-lettering back in Christmas 2007. Got about 50,000 km's out of them so far, and I estimate another 10,000 - 15,000 before they need to be changed.

From my experience with the Kumho's:
- Treadwear = Excellent. It's rated at 500, so it's got a good amount of thick rubber on the treads
- Traction = Dry Tarmac: Very Good. Takes a lot to break them loose from their grip, but they do protest a bit when you corner hard. Wet Tarmac: Above average. Holds well but will lose traction if you push them too hard.
- Off Road: Haven't had much chance to test them off road but the couple times I've driven on the beach and through a track, they held well. Has a good aggressive tread for an A/T so you get adequate traction on loose surfaces.
- Comfort: Very comfortable ride. I got 265/70R16's, and there's enough sidewall available to handle most bumps and irregularities in the road with ease. The sidewalls do flex a bit though, but not enough to concern the regular driver.

Remember to check your alignment every 10,000 km's or so. This is the number 1 thing you can do to prolong your tire's lifetime.

265/70R16 is what my dad got on his HiRider Hurricane 2009 when he changed tyres and it touches the mudguard area when he locks too much.
My 4x4 XLT 2010 came with 245/xx/R16. SO what size of tyre so I upgrade to? I like bigger tyres once they ride comfortable and are broad.

Any suggestions on the size for my 4x4 XLT 2010 ranger?
