From anecdotal reports - Kumho >>> Nexen. The Roadventure A/T from kumho are excellent on the highway, haven't had much of a chance to test them off-road yet.
Got the set of Kumho Roadventures All-Terrain with white-lettering back in Christmas 2007. Got about 50,000 km's out of them so far, and I estimate another 10,000 - 15,000 before they need to be changed.
From my experience with the Kumho's:
- Treadwear = Excellent. It's rated at 500, so it's got a good amount of thick rubber on the treads
- Traction = Dry Tarmac: Very Good. Takes a lot to break them loose from their grip, but they do protest a bit when you corner hard. Wet Tarmac: Above average. Holds well but will lose traction if you push them too hard.
- Off Road: Haven't had much chance to test them off road but the couple times I've driven on the beach and through a track, they held well. Has a good aggressive tread for an A/T so you get adequate traction on loose surfaces.
- Comfort: Very comfortable ride. I got 265/70R16's, and there's enough sidewall available to handle most bumps and irregularities in the road with ease. The sidewalls do flex a bit though, but not enough to concern the regular driver.
Remember to check your alignment every 10,000 km's or so. This is the number 1 thing you can do to prolong your tire's lifetime.
