What are the best ways to improve acceleration

I am new to this whole tuning thing and just would like to know for a impreza 1.6 hatchback the best modifications or additions to make to improve the car's acceleration.

improve acceleration requires more torque.
You're not gonna gain much torque on minor NA mods.

A couple guys turbo'd the TS, check scoobytnt.com, a lot of the experienced scooby guys are not on trinituner.

eh heh? how much lb-ft increase? is it a TS only mod?
