WTB/WTK: alternator to charge starting battery at 14 - 14.7V

Postby locorolla » April 6th, 2012, 12:17 pm

I need an alternator that is going to charge my starting battery (my only battery) at 14 - 14.7 Volts.

My alternator currently pushes 70amps, it's an OEM alternator for my 5A-FE engine (AE 110 Toyota Corolla, 1999 model)

My audio is small:
* one 2000w max Boss Chaos C1000
* four Kicker 6"x9"
* one Audiopipe TS-M12 in a ported box
* one 1 Farad capacitor

I would appreciate if anyone could suggest a solution and where i can get it done/to buy.

Blessinz...........

i wanna put in an Odyssey battery as my starting battery, so in order to validate the local warranty, the battery has to charge at 14 - 14.7 Volts.................

They'll check the charging voltage with the a/c and headlights on like any other battery. An acceptable level is around 14V, so if you're not getting that, something's wrong.

A charging system is only as good as its weakest link, so before you jump out +$400 on a new alternator, assess the condition of your engine bay grounds and battery charge wire.
