Throttle body

Postby altec#3 » April 28th, 2012, 11:49 am

Can I use a 4g92 throttle body on a 4g13 engine? If not, can I swap parts such as the part that the idle control sensor and hoses are connected to?

good question.... I guess you'll just have to try it and see. The only thing I can advise you is to be careful when unbolting the part with the idle sensor because there is a rubber gasket and you really don't want to stretch that. Once you swap and they line back up well then you should be good to go..Also, more than likely you will have to adjust the idle screw as well because it would have been set for the 92 engine..so good luck and report back and let us know how it worked out

Tried it, worked for while, but then the sensor failed, it so happens that this sensor was no good from the start. The guy I got the throttle body from thought I needed a tps sensor. That was working well. Bought an original sensor, adjusted the air flow and car works fine now.

Why did you need to change your old throttle body in the first place? Just want to know for my sake cause i may need to do the same.
