I had about 6 guinea pigs over the course of a few yrs. They're fun to own, just don't overfeed them.. One pain point is that their urine has a very strong ammonia scent so you more or less have to clean their cage every day.

Don't line the cage with saw dust since that will give them health problems. Wood shavings are good to use but I kept it simple with newspaper. Also give them a little exercise ever so often by taking them out the cage and letting the roam around. If u let them out they usually find their way back to the cage.

A good diet for them would consist of those feed pellets supplemented with some types of grass and fresh fruits and vegetables

Do the ultrasonic pest repellers you plug into the wall affect the guinea pigs?

This is Major Tom to Ground Control. I'm stepping through the door and I'm floating in a most peculiar way. And the stars look very different today.

My circuit's dead, there's something wrong. Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles, I'm feeling very still.

Tell my wife I love her very much... she knows...

i've had a few guineas over the last couple of years. They are not really aggressive and are great with kids. I use the wood-shavings to line their cage and clean it every 3 days. I've never tried lining with the newspaper bec i'm not sure if the newsprint would affect them.

One thing to note though, they scare easily and can easily drop down and die if they get too scared.
