4X4 frontier with rb25 in it

Postby 525isport » June 21st, 2012, 7:30 am

just looking for some ideas to lower the suspension on a 4x4 frontier ,and still maintain a good ride. i want it like a 4x2 height ,not slammed to the ground
i will be removing the front diff and axles so that wont be a problem . Im thinking just adjust the torsion bars

the rear is spring over axle so blocks wont work . so should i flip it ? will it have enough room ? will it be too low ? will the front go down enough to level it out?

any ideas ,pics or links to anyone who has done this before will help
thanks

i know a pal of mine did it with a B25, he turned down the torsions and from spring over, he went spring under, on 22s with a med profile tire, not too thin, the well were filled, and the ride was almost stock, it wud hit the bump stops, but he didnt wanna remove them in order to save his shocks, and the 4wd still worked, no issues, van was returned to stock after and sold....

sounds good but will it work on the nissan?
and i wont be going with 22s . 18s might be an option later on but the stock 16s is what im going to use for now . the 4wd system is going to be removed ,along with the engine and box ( big project in the works here).

what about some wheel spacers ,like 1 or 2 inch wide . anyone local sells anything like that?

this frontier will be very different from whats out there right now

why not use the Fully Loaded 4x2's [AX2.5Di] they're cheaper than the 4x4's and if you're going to remove the 4wd components and convert to spring under axle its already that standard.

strange how the lowering of the frontier has gone the other way because the RB25 is alot lighter than the yd25 and the front has raised up an inch or two ...LOL

remember you also took out the front diff + axles

since its a more sporty feel you're going for [within the bounds of being a 4x4 pickup], i'd suggest cranking the torsions all the way up for a more rigid/ stiffer feel but reindexing the torsion bar for the lowered stance
