Looking for a quality straightener/painter

Postby sotf » July 11th, 2012, 10:48 pm

I know that this has probably been asked already, but.....

I am looking for a reliable straightener and painter preferably in the North. I am not looking for any special kind of work, just a repaint of the original colour. I have painted a car one by a "small man" body shop and to say they f-up my car would be an understatement.

I want quality work and do not mind paying a little extra for it once I get my car back better than it was with no broken clips, missing parts, etc. I am saying this out of experience.

Feedback is extremely appreciated.

BTW how many coats of clear-coat are usually put on a car? Thanks

the same fella who does the old school restores, and did a buddy's car. Tg Motorsport. I saw quality in the title, and responded on that.

He's not the cheapest. But you get what you requested without the BS in a timely manner.

mud guard was not properly screwed back on. spare tyre well was left with a big gap i had to seal with silicone. Area that was supposed to be straightened still has a slight depression. bumper started to sag after. a taillight was removed and the edge was cracked

I like this post, I hear talk about ah man in Charlie Ville..Does he do patching and welding too..If so please direct me to him or to any other reliable "straightner" in central..

I know most men run from "old cars" and the patching and welding thing now..So any help will be appreciated.

Wow...now seeing this. Anyways, better late than never.

After 3 visits to the shop they could not get the repairs done correctly. I don't think they had the skills or concern required to do the job properly.
