lol. Ent. Thought Blake was catching up oui, Bolt dig deeper in the tank.

he always starting off slow and half way through does fire up ah rocket or something :|

That's just because he takes longer to reach his raw top speed later than the other athletes. His acceleration isn't that quick as the closest competitors but his top speed blows them away.

I wanted to touch on what is wrong with an athlete eating fry bake but that will kick back up a fuss in the thread and I respect by boy shake d livin ched.

GOING FOR GLORY
T&T women in record run

By Kwame Laurence
Story Created: Aug 9, 2012 at 11:06 PM ECT
Story Updated: Aug 9, 2012 at 11:06 PM ECT
Michelle-Lee Ahye, Kelly-Ann Baptiste, Kai Selvon and Semoy Hackett are within touching distance of history.
Never before has a female Trinidad and Tobago athlete earned precious metal on the biggest sporting stage. There's a strong possibility four will achieve the feat in one race at the Olympic Stadium here in London, England, today.
At 3.40 p.m. (T&T time), the T&T quartet will do battle from lane four in the Olympic Games women's 4x100 metres final. And they will go into the race confident, following a record-breaking run in the qualifying round yesterday.
Ahye, Baptiste, Selvon and Hackett combined for second spot in heat one in 42.31 seconds, taking nine-tenths of a second off the 43.21 T&T record the same quartet had established in Nassau, Bahamas, on June 16. United States won the heat in a very fast 41.64.
At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, Baptiste was a member of the T&T 4x100m team that failed to get the baton round the track in the qualifying round. And four years later, the Plymouth, Tobago, sprinter was again on the T&T sprint relay quartet when history repeated itself at the Beijing Games.
After a storming run on the back straight yesterday, Baptiste ran into some difficulty in her efforts to pass the baton to Selvon. Thankfully, a hat-trick of disasters was averted.
"Me and Kai almost didn't get that stick around the track," Baptiste told the Express. "But thank God, we did not panic. With passes that weren't that great and to be able to still run that fast, I think that's a good sign.
"We just want to medal," she continued. "If we were to walk away here with a medal of whatever colour, we'd be really happy. That's our goal. We just want to stay focused, trust each other, trust that we get the stick around the track and come away with the medal."
Ukraine emerged victorious in heat two, clocking 42.36 seconds to edge Jamaica (42.37) into second spot.
The Jamaicans, however, will be much stronger today. Both back-to-back Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and two-time 200m gold medallist Veronica Campbell-Brown are expected to join the team for the championship race.
And the Americans will be boosted by the inclusion of Carmelita Jeter and newly crowned 200m champion Allyson Felix.
Baptiste acknowledges that United States and Jamaica are the top contenders for the Olympic sprint relay title.
"We know that there are two teams out there running for the gold medal, and realistically speaking, everybody else behind is running for the bronze. As much as we want to win, and we're going out there to win, we know that the bronze is our chance to grasp that medal," Baptiste ended, "and we're looking forward to it".
Today's T&T schedule (T&T time) 2.53 p.m. Trinidad & Tobago—men's 4x100 metres, round 1, heat 2 3.40 p.m. Trinidad & Tobago— women's 4x100 metres final 4.20 p.m. Trinidad & Tobago— men's 4x400 metres final See Team T&T in action, exclusively on TV6

The "hen" has spoken. Carl Lewis raises concerns about Bolt doping.

CAN WE REALLY BELIEVE (IN) BOLT?

The fun ended so fast, and Usain Bolt was serious for the first time, maybe ever. Even angry. Who knew he could be?

He had just been talking about his favorite subject, his own greatness, after winning the 200-meter Olympic gold Thursday night. He called himself a legend, the greatest athlete to live, and then raised his arms as if he were a Pope, and said to “bask in my glory.’’

Only Bolt can pull that off. Then, snap, it turned.

“I’m going to say something controversial,’’ he said. “Carl Lewis. I have no respect for him. He’s just looking for attention because nobody really talks about him. I’ve lost all respect for him. All respect.’’

Lewis has made comments about Bolt and the dominant Jamaican sprinters, suggesting that they might be on steroids. He has doubted openly that they can do what they’re doing cleanly and says they’re not above scrutiny.

Lewis had won two Olympic golds in the 100 meters and a gold and a silver in the 200. Bolt passed that Thursday night, winning his second straight Olympic 200 in 19.32 seconds, only a few days after having won his second straight 100. Nobody has ever done that before, but don't forget Lewis' four Olympic long jump golds.

What a shot out of nowhere. Bolt on steroids? Who would have ever thought ... oh, never mind. There is definitely a Bolt-Lewis element here. But Lewis is just going to be a jumping-off point for most people who have been afraid to openly wonder about Bolt and the Jamaicans.

Why doesn’t sand stick to beach volleyball players at the Olympics?

The sand they play in during the Olympic games is not actual beach sand. The sand used for competition consists of a specially made, smoother and rounder grain that is designed specifically not to stick and just roll off the body. The International Volleyball Federation heavily regulates this sand to ensure there are no pebbles or bits of shells like you find at the beach.

It is, in fact, Ontario-cured sand.

Since beach volleyball became an Olympic sports in 1966, Hutcheson Sand & Mixes of Huntsville, Ontario, has taken the fine-grained sand of choice and made it even finer and more perfect.
For the London 2012 Games, the organizing company wanted British sand for the Horse Guards Parade showcase arena. They found the Redhill 28 sand they wanted in a quarry in Godstone, Surrey.

But then it was up to Hutcheson to refine the playing field, washing the sand and getting rid of any particles that might stick to or scratch those perfect bodies.

The beach volleyball sand at the 2008 Beijing Games was a soft, fine product of Hainan province, a tropical island off China's southern coast. But it was still Hutcheson-treated.

Was it dropped or Baptiste did not collect it in time? On the replay it looking like the first leg girl still had it in her hand and slammed the baton down on the track in anger.
