Telling the nation wouldn't achieve anything but instead cause more panic, instability, loss of confidence etc. Better for him to deal with any health issues in private. If it's so serious that it gets to the point where he's unable to function as PM only then does he need to go public.

Of course this is probably just 1 of many baseless rumours we'll hear about him over the next 5 years. Remember all the doomsday rumours about Kamla?

I am happy to report that Dr Rowley is fine, his throat cancer rumor was first reported by a UNC blogger on facebook, which is why you keep hearing this. Its just something made up to cause panic and nothing more, unfortunately a lot of people now believe he has cancer. It has actually been a hot topic on the ground lately for some reason.
