Police seize 6,800 bullets, five high-powered weapons in Piparo raid



Police have seized five high-powered guns and a whopping 6,800 rounds of ammunition in a raid carried out in Piparo on Saturday.

The vast array of .22 and .25 ammunition were stored in boxes and biscuit containers and represents one of the largest hauls made by police in this country.

Officers of the Criminal Intelligence Division and the Criminal Gang Intelligence Unit carried out the raid at the Piparo house in the Princes Town district, after acting on information.

Rifles and shot guns were among the weapon seized.

Three men were arrested in the operation.

Have to be a registered contractor to get a Hilti nail gun to my knowledge. Uses something close to .22 ammo. Don't some pellet gun owners increase the bore of their guns from .177 to accommodate .22 pellets?
