HELP Kia Cerato 2012 Check Steering Wheel Lock...SOLVED

Postby Vulcan Engineering » October 16th, 2015, 11:22 am

Anyone ever had this problem before? My car won't start but the display on the screen says "Check Steering Wheel Lock". Its a Push Button start. Tried turning the wheel but same problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The power distribution module (PDM) was replaced and the problem seem to go away. Working over 1 year now since.

Same thing happened yesterday with my 2011 Kia Cadenza. I took to a dealership to fix it, but so far, nothing. Thanks for sharing your experience. Really helped!

Hello I have the same problem as all has been discussed above. It's one of the most annoying problems with my Kia. In fact most dealers I have been too are not really very helpful.

Yes the battery that was sold to me had the incorrect amperage. It damaged some things but its ok now.

Do you know the things that was damaged as a result?
If yes, can you share them with me?
My 2011 Cerato is currently down with this problem and I've recently removed it from the dealer cause they don't have a clue what's up with it.

Bulbs kept blowing regularly, was not charging properly problems with various electrical things working sometimes and when a check is done on it nothing showing up as bad or faulty.
