Can't go wrong with the Carberry!

Are you going with the tuning option we spoke about?

Might be best to check one of those mechanic shops that deal with Subarus

Just finished my blow through setup. Its very responsive and drivability is significantly improved despite being fmic + larger turbo. No issues with bov anymore since its before the maf. Well worth the work, i should have done this a long time ago. Still have some tuning to do but great so far.

Could you explain this method a bit more? I'm curious to know how it's set up.

Is it that the maf has an relocated to a post turbo position?

Yes, the maf is placed after the turbo and intercooler(called blow through). i chose a 73mm diameter which is good to scale the maf for 420whp. since the maf is closer to the throttle body the signals are more direct similar to oem which doesnt have a ton of piping involved. Tip in calculations are much easier to work with and there is no issue with the bov since it is before the maf. i find the engine runs much smoother. I have absolutely no oil in my intake since my pcv system has been completely replaced by a crawford air/oil separator, so my maf wont get contaminated.

Nice man. That would have been my only concern, blow-by and maf fowling, but you have got it covered.

Let us know how it performs after the tune.

Nice info guys...MGL u gave me an aha moment leading me to hypothesise why these MAFs may need cleaning so regularly...blow by in the system messing up afr.

Remember in the stock location, the maf is located pre-turbo so it doesn't suffer this sort of intake blow-by.

But it can also be fowled up from over oiled filters and contaminants from the air that get past the filter. So a cleaning once in a while is definitely a good thing, especially if you exhibit symptoms of af variation.

Thanks man...I was curious to knw what a stock map looks like since I suspected my car was re tuned by a tuner - Richie, previous to purchasing. Contacted Richie to enquire if he did in fact tune the car...to this date no response... Got the car checked and retuned by RTune. I now understand why Richie had nothing to say.

Not sure if I understand the post.

If you are setting the adjustable FPR at a same base pressure as before then you'll probably not need to tune.

If you're going to mess with fuel pressure then you'll definitely need to adjust some fuel parameters. You can do this with a road or dyno tune.

Best to tune after you install the Meth Injection. Else you'll have to tune twice. But this depends on your timeline.

I bought my legacy with a blown engine, prev owner said fta tuned it but he kept changing blocks every 6 months or so. He claimed it was at 300whp. When i pulled the rom it was incredibly ridiculous. Way too much boost and timing everywhere with loads of knocks. Afr's were way off and a few other maps were messed with like avcs which i dont believe they know how to tune correctly. In fact all the work they did on that car made me glad i cut ties with that garage years ago. I even found a large 14 spanner in the intercooler, at least i can add that to my tools.

Lol well I guess I'll be hitting up Ryan next month, I just hope he wouldn't mind tuning with injector decaps

Lol, nice man.

Guys lets keep it technical in the forum. Wouldn't want it to turn into something controversial. Might be best to PM each other the experience on tuners - just to avoid confrontation with others.
