I bought a wireless mouse and that works infinitely better than using the remote.

I got one of these and is very happy with it , yes the Remote that came with it Sucks only problem so far with the Wireless Keyboard Touchpad is that it has no Menu button so I still use the Original for that function .

I had one when I just got my android box. Fell one time too many and died. The mouse is fine for me but I do miss the keyboard sometimes.

Easy test is to go on YouTube and check if you can stream a 4k video without buffering from the get go

So guys....What's s good brand TV box to go with nowadays ? Seeing this thread was started back in 2015 and technology would have gone leaps and bounds forward since then. Also, what's the use of a Google Chromecast device ? Saw same at Best buy........Me found it interesting ?

Most importantly, get one with Android Lollipop or newer. Kodi 17 isn't compatible with anything older. They all pretty much can handle basic streaming and many have the basic connectivity (wifi, ethernet and a couple usb ports).

Chromecast is a different kind of device. By itself, it is useless. Use this to mirror the screen of your phone or tablet to the tv. You can also start playback on netflix, youtube etc on your phone/tab and continue it on the tv.

This seems to be one of the higher end units. Should serve well for a couple years.

I'm using MYGica 17(kODI 17 for android 4.4.x) and it working pretty well, it's a forked edition could use it along side Kodi 16.1 with no need to uninstall it.

Its a forked edition modified to run on Android 4.4
Kodi is open source so it should be the same

sometimes i wonder if it is a cat and mouse game we play with content creators and android boxes...seems like they're always trying to shut it down.
