Most likely it was manual. From where it came from.

Yes Manual .Most of the vehicles out there are manual, some how they don't like automatic , they say manual handles better, especially on icy roads. So next week its change around and install and see how it goes from there. This vehicle down since October last year.

That's about the same time I been having issues since.....im starting to believe the machine shop didn't do a good job and the head had a crack and they never told me or checked it.....im hoping the spare head is good, but this time Im gonna drive it HARD.....if it has to go, its gonna go

Anyone know where I can get the paper type head gasket? Hearing a lot of stories the metal except company don't hold out. Also looking for valve seals and valve cover seal.

Ayy sorry about your troubles 747, they really say cars and women are the most troublesome things a man will encounter yes..I got my parts to change out my timing belt at Ausco in PoS, on Charles St. Prices were reasonable and they're well stocked so I'm guessing they may have what you need.
I have some suspension parts to change out..no diagnosis yet but I'm hearing some noises. I was thinking about leaving south to try out the tech. at 2 D Max in Chase V'ge for diagnosis and then replacement because I've read the reviews and Jah knows I'm not in an experimenting mood with these techs in south. Has anyone ever had to do a complete suspension overhaul or close to one yet..looking for some advice in terms of cost and where to get parts and what not.

I just changer the shocks nothing else, so far. The thing is the vehicle rides really nice ,that's one of the reason I still have it. The other thing I am worried about is , what started he over heating in the first place. Just hope this engine solves all the problems once and for all.

I know for sure I have some bushings to replace, shocks too probably. These engines aren't cheap and you've been down for a while. Diesel engines push a lot of heat and theyre obviously much more unforgiving than their gas counterparts when they overheat..why not run through the entire cooling system one time to mitigate any risk of overheating again?

So upon close inspection today, ive realized the head is not the issue.....the BLOCK has cracked on 2nd cylinder wall.....*sighs*

It really dose ride soft and comfortable. I also replace the radiator with the original plastic one. 747 I say put back the metal gasket..
Nutty I would say replace the thermostat also.

i have this kit coming by next weekend, what do you need from it...i really bought it for the top cover and the pump seal.

The suspension cost 200 a side to replace the shocks. Maybe 250 for the fronts can not remember.
The link pins I did myself. Replaced the shocks two years ago at kissoons in curepe. Got the shocks there also.

Waiting on a FU Head and Block and gonna sell the van working properly for 65K.......Already took in a new hilux and killed out all headache and worries today (6/13/2017)

I honestly think that is a good option. Buy a second hand 2012 model! Selling for around 120-130k.
Good price on the sportage also. If you can, get it sorted out first and then sell for a little more.

Yea but the space home is the issue and we need back a daily....most likely might go brand new with monthly installments so all the money doesn't have to come out the bank one time.

Its there, ended up getting some parts that was preventing me from driving on the road, so now that's soon another useable car as I get insurance. But im gonna sell out everything else.

We should be getting a FU Head and Block for the sportage.....after that, we will sell it for a fair price, this time no doubts or questions on the engine. Never me again and someone elses LOCAL used stuff.....that's headache. Foreign used and done or new for parts

i will change the thermostat as suggested and I am also thinking about changing the Radiator to the metal one, any thoughts from the pros.

Metal radiator are so ugly and takes away from the originality of the engine bay, my 2 cent.

Metal radiators in my opinion & experience DONT dissipate heat as rapidly as a plastic & aluminum.

plastic uses aluminum cores, only the tanks are plastic. Full aluminum is best bet.

Copper/Brass works ok, but u need twin high speed fans to keep it cooling. Long drives and some idling, it will get your temp up a bit. Copper/Brass that is

Gonna mount back up everything tomorrow, installed next head yesterday, rain bothering me.

Confident that this vehicle wont give problems again but its for sale when finished, basically a FU head and block now, new turbo, new injectors, new sensors, new valve seals, new rings and new bearings.....All seals new.
