Behind glove compartment. Disconnect the mechanism on the left that slows the door when opening and squeeze the top so the door could swing all the way to the floor.
Its cover should be fully visible and u jus unclip to gain access

Guys, Not sure if this normal or not, when I roll up driver and passenger side windows there is a dip in the headlights, similar thing happened in my CS as well, but the CS was fitted with HID and stuff so always assumed it was because of that.

Is this normal with lancers, anybody else had the same issue??

Guys, not sure if thread appropriate but can anyone make recommendations for who to check to buy a CY 4A91 Engine? This is the 1.5 that came with the 08 EX model.

Additionally, anyone know if there are any issues upgrading to the 2.0 engine for the same model?

Sorry if wrong thread.

The dip in lights is grounding points becoming weak. You can either clean them or add additional ones. These lancers were known for having poor grounding. Also added to the fact that the channels for the glass may need cleaning and lubing which will put strain on the motor and use more power to operate the window.

anybody ever cleaned their throttle body in the 1.5 EX? I'm noticing a slight rough idle when on drive and not in motion.

Yes. I unbolted mine and turned the Ignition to the 'on' position and had someone step on the accelerator pedal all the way down to hold it in the throttle in the fully open position. I then used a small paintbrush and throttle body cleaner to clean it. Be VERY gentle around the vane.

Usually when cleaning the throttle body, it's also advised to clean the injectors, change air filter and then reset the sensor. That's if the throttle body is an electronic one. That way, you would get optimum mileage for your gas

I've done this but how do you reset the sensor?

Cleaning the TB definitely made the idle smoother. However, i notice when i start the engine or release my foot off the brake pedal the rpm goes up and then returns to normal. What causes this?

That's done using a scan tool basically a relearn( different tools call it different things). I did a service weekend (service injector, engine flush, clean throttle body and MAP sensor). Although i did it before, i was unable to perform the re-learn this time.
Tried with 2 different tools. However i didn't notice any higher idle speeds from not doing it.

One must be careful when cleaning the throttle body as some cleaners remove the coating on them.

My CY is now 7 yrs old and doing over 140Kkm with no major issues.
About three days ago while driving ,I notice the service ABS message and light coming on.
I said LORD since I know some money have to spend , since I hear ABS sensors is over a thousand dollars TT at DM.
I hooked up my scan tool but it could not read. My scan tool has ABS for all vehicle makes except Mitsu.
I called my mechanic who referred me to someone to get it scan.

While driving on my way to work ,(ABS service message still on ), I was in some traffic when the brake pedal started to get lower and lower.
I turned around and carefully head home. I checked the brake fluid and the level was very low, pass the min mark.
I topped it off to the full mark and pumped the pedal a few times until it was normal.
I checked for leaks but non was found.

After this the car was carefully driven a couple of times , moderate to hard braking and the ABS service light and message went off never to be seen again. What surprise me is that the very low brake fluid did not cause the brake light to come , it caused the ABS light to be on.

Car was taken to the mechanic and the brake shoes needed replacing. Got a set from DM for $ 639.00 after discount.
Replacement by mechanic is $ 80.00.
Their brake pads is approx $800.00 as compared to when I bought a set from them in 2014 for $1500.00.

Plans for JAN 2018 is to :

1 Service injectors (mechanic says he takes them out of vehicle)
2 Replace spark plugs ( original plugs still in vehicle )
3 TB cleanout
4 Adjust valve clearances
5 Replace fuel filter ( if possible )
6 Replace engine belts

Buy the oil from diamond or check teknet on the forums or other retailers and then take it to your mechanic to change. Or check Ryotech. It's highly unlikely to find a garage selling the original oil.

Where locally do you get the original Bosch spark plug for the 4a91 engine?

Or the replacement plugs started below?
