Got an engine. Changed the timing belt and all the pulleys, tensioners etc. Changed all the rotating seals.

Never thought I could encounter such a difficult setup to work on. If you don't put things with thinking about future removal you will have an insanely hard time. That PCV setup is rubbish

In the process of scrapping the old engine and I am really surprised to see the condition of the Pistons and valve seals....like new for an engine with over 100k km.

Once the crank has not been damaged...il consider rebuilding. Yet to see any evidence of the spun bearing and I have already dropped the oil pan.

If anyone is interested let's talk before I become too invested into rebuilding. Pics thus far is available via WhatsApp.

Getting my sausage fingers in to remove all those hose clamps under the intercooler. Just need to get my PCV set up connected again properly.

Should be easy with the intercooler and throttle body out. The most difficult hose to install/replace is the one by the throttle body that plugs into the block and metal piping.

If the hose is hard best thing to do is replace it. Dave suppose to have since he made a special order for them a while back. When it goes bad it can make a mess on top of the block.

If u can source the correct size silicone hose for the pcv system that utilizes hoses with different size ends ...that will be good or if u get the original new. I want silicone so let me know if u find any.

Ok... I would like to retract my first statement.

This whole car setup is rubbish.

Will remove it when I get some free time again.

Do you all use any octane booster? I don't have a WM setup yet. Will get one in March or April, so in the meantime I need Octane Booster.

What you all use, how much you put and how often?

Nope...I wanted one. Didn't get since they were priced @ 2500 with ac control. Got it without the AC control from Japan for less. Bought extra for those that might be interested.

Tbh....I have no faith in the quality of work done locally regarding engine building.

The few popular Subaru mechanics may be a bit expensive.

Garage 63
Barry Soodeen
Bird
Chung, (I see he is powering foresters these days)

Take ur pick

Getting EJ25 heads from non turbo SOHC..would this work on the stock EJ20 block? Head gasket is the same. Valves slightly larger.
