Amazing how complacent people are about a hurricane hitting Trinidad. Chaos theory is a real thing fellas. All the probability models will mean squat if the conditions are just right for it to happen. Conditions that are unpredictable happen every season.

yup I do a lot of work in the sun and it is just absolutely crazy not even a hat can help.

The only good thing is that we won't be hit by any hurricanes chances are slim to none anyways. Thank god we so far south yes

So is just the horrible heat we have to deal with

Doubt it, we too far south, no evidence suggests that we will just be included in the hurricane belt at all

As it stands we are definitely outside the hurricane belt

Trinidad is outside of the hurricane belt but has been hit by hurricanes and tropical storms. I doubt that many of the structures that I've seen in Trinidad will survive a hurricane, even though the building codes are written for earthquake and hurricane survival.

So far as heat is concerned, the hottest day in Trinidad on record is no hotter than many cities world wide.

Hurricane center said dominant westerly motion. We will get a breeze.

A cat 4 would flatten Trinidad almost as bad as when Marlene roll over

There are no longer historical norms as it pertains to weather patterns because of global climatic changes. I honestly thought we were gonna get wasted this year. And yes, environmental is my thing. The trends are becoming more and more scary.

Like they forget Bret last year already. We were only lucky it was a baby storm with 40 mph winds when it crossed us. And yet it STILL did some damage in the South. From 40mph winds. What will 75 mph winds (Only a Cat. 1 hurricane) Do? We certainly not prepared for even weaker hurricanes far less major (Cat. 3 and higher) monsters.

It was a baby storm because where we are located no time to develop

True. But storms that form further east and South could certainly hit us and cause a lot of damage.

Remember Ivan? If I remember it went unusually South and put us under hurricane warning. Then luckily it bypassed us and wiped out Grenada.

Interesting...any formation that low is of concern.

Seems conditions are unfavourable for further development
NHC wrote:A tropical wave located about midway between the west coast of
Africa and the Lesser Antilles is producing a large area of
disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Some slight development
of this system is possible during the next day or two before
environmental conditions become unfavorable. This wave is expected
to move westward at about 15 mph during the next few days.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent.

it's fairly big though

Rain coming either way, particularly tuesday and thursday into friday. Most likely flooding.

Exactly flooding is such a regular occurrence that the government and the people who live in such areas should be taking proactive measures to prevent this from happening

Instead of worrying about the big one

That is the clear and present danger

Do not trust forecasts otherwise though. If weather.com publicized their own historical actual with historical forecasts you will see why.
Something like a hurricane will obviously be an exception.
