Galleons Passage

Postby Hastings » December 21st, 2018, 4:47 pm

Hey Tuners, I want to take my Frontier pickup across to Tobago next month and I prefer the morning sailing as it’s smoother apparently. Does anyone know if they allow vans on the Galleons Passage? I tried to book online but it shows number of spaces available as zero. Thanks

Has a thread already for this leaky boat.

Hands down worst boat ride I experienced best you take a plane and rent a car.

Right now there seems to be a lot of issues with it since government purchased it either it reach it destiny or turns back it's a gamble.
The boat it self seems like it could barely handle big waves it cause massive shakes even passengers who like sitting at the rare felt the same results as front.
The day I went on some water seem to splash above and the whole inside started to leak throught the air condition.
Food and drinks is rubbish on the galleons compare to what the other boat had.

Thanks, I am going over for an extended visit so renting is not an option. Despite its shortcomings I still want to arrive in Tobago in daylight so need the morning sailing which is Galleons only. Can I take my van?

Providing the sea isnt rough, the sailing on the galleons passage is pretty smooth. If your not getting any tickets online or at an agent then you may have to try standby. Another option is to put your vehicle on the Cabo Star and come up with the plane.
Hope this helps.
Good luck..........

You can do what I did this week, works especially good if you have someone to help you on the other side.

I loaded my pickup onto the Cabo Star on Thursday and had a buddy collect it for me. Then I flew over the next day. If I had planned ahead, I could've sent the van, taxi'd to the airport, fly to Tobago then taxi to the port and get the van myself

Originally booked online,
but sailing was cancelled so we ended up on the galeons.
i also thought the galeons could not carry vans but alas it did.
