whats the fine/ is there a fine for driving a class 4 vehicle with a provisional (learners) permit?
(while also the holder of a class 3 permit)

Yes there is a fine, and you can be charged, for operating a class 4 vehicle without a class 4 license.

Can't recall how much the fine is off hand but iirc i think its about $5000

It was $750 then $2000.. now it's $3000.....or six months imprisonment

If you don't have the requisite permit, the insurance is also invalid. Beware.

As of last month it was 2950.....or 54 as pugboy posted.

Class 4 is still 2950kg afaik (subject to correction)

The speed thing was ammended and private inspection for 3200kg and under.

They were, but in all fairness, the ranger and bt50 are unfairly classed, but most of our laws are crap anyway
