Qg18 rattle/knock

Postby heroyuy » May 3rd, 2019, 6:27 am

Anyone experience severe rattling when accelerating qg18de (nothing when off the throttle). Car also hard starts when cold, nedd about a minute of tumbling.. Throttle body has been cleaned and replaced. No CEL or error codes. Sparkplugs good (ix). Car was scanned and nothing showed up. Any suggestions?

The electrician showed me that 3 coilpacks were leaking current.could that be the cause of rattling?

I trying everything yes. One scan tool showed live data feed that thr maf is giving a slightly higher than average reading. Will change that and throw in some fresh plugs for the sake of it. How do i reset ecu?

Coukd it be like the tensioner pulley?

Cause it's a lot of y12 and tiida that I hear that rattling noise when accelerating.

I want to doubt that it's the timing with so many vehicles... Although, a low octane woukd throw off the settings.

Run a compression test and see how healthy your motor is.

Had same problem with qg15de was the chain tensioner, galleys were blocked causing it to jump a tooth or two would still start and run strait away with a lil ticky knock then under acceleration would become a knock, rattle, with the value of engine, would say replace with hole new engine very cheap and easy engine to replace
