The eight installment of the TTKA championship series got underway at the Arima Race Club carpark around 1pm. Grid places were determined by current point standings and competitors in each class put on an exciting display for the fans and supporters of Kart Racing in Trinidad and Tobago. This event also saw the addition of Monster Energy Drinks, Pepsi and Blue Waters as major sponsors of Kart racing in Trinidad and Tobago.

AutoSport Racing Association held their 3rd AutoSport Drag AttaXX at ARC Car Park in Arima to a capacity crowd. Even the competitor roster was at its capacity, having to lock off entries at 76 drivers. Automobile Sales brought their new Audi A1 for a test run and The Honorable Minister of Sport not only attended, he raced!

September 4th saw TTKA hold their 7th event of the season. After a summer break, many drivers seemed to have developed cobwebs that took a while to scatter. The weather did not help with the intense heat causing some sluggishness amongst the drivers . By the time the final heats of the day came around, however, most had gotten their groove back as these last races proved to be the most exciting.

The rain skirted Arima Race Club for TTKA’s event # 6 this past Sunday 17th July. With only four more events left for the rest of the 2011 season, there were some important points to be earned. The race day provided lots of excitement, despite the smaller competitor group than usual, particularly with the anti clockwise race direction, which, on previous occasions, provided some gripping entertainment.

Not only the weather was scorching at the Trinidad & Tobago Karting Association’s # 4 that occurred last Sunday at their home ground – the Arima Race Course. There was some very exciting driving action that roused the crowd. Some of the keenest competition emanated from the Rotax International class with young Craig Sumair eventually claiming the 1st place trophy in Kart # 192.

Competition begins to heat up as the Trinidad and Tobago Karting Association held its third event on May 15. Conditions remained overcast for the entire day however the weather held creating cool overcast conditions which were ideal for racing.

Trinidad and Tobago Karting Association held it’s second championship event on April 10. Track conditions were ideal as the weather held up nicely to provide ideal racing conditions for competitors. In each class the usual suspects continued their run of form as the championship front runners are beginning to emerge.

The TTKA wrapped up their 2010 championship year with the kind of excitement you would expect from this crop of drivers. Some were out there racing for a championship, others for pride but every driver wanted to finish the year on high. While a few left the event on Sunday with momentum at their backs the majority know they have work to do in the off season if they are going to take the top spot in 2011.
