TTRC – Madza Rotary vs Porsche Boxer

TTRC – Madza Rotary vs Porsche Boxer

TTRC continues its 2018 high-speed stages championship this weekend with its 3rd event “Rain or Shine”, which will be held at the East Reform Stage, Tarouba.

This event will host the first round in the 2-wheel drive Class, drifting sideways, battle between the Wolf Oil Rotary and the Timeline Porsche.  Both drivers, Harold Morley and Ansel Ali are performers and have been known to ‘give talk’ and then back it up on the gravel.

The Wolf Oil rotary team of Ansel Ali and Ken Mohammed is the existing crowd favourite in their well-established, locally built, rear wheel drive powered rotary Mazda 323.  They have set the bar with the always sideways, sliding action, and the sound of the fire breathing rotary machine is music to your ears as they pull 10,000rpm. They will be returning to the gravel after missing the last event.  The word is out that they have made some modifications and are ready for battle in the Modified.

The Timeline Porsche first got its taste of local action in TTRC’s last event, driven by the very experienced and youthful Sir Harold Morley who is no stranger to rallying a Porsche, or going sideways. The car instantly caught the attention of local rally fans with its speed, agility. This well-built, fully homologated vintage machine – a 1972 Porsche 911 coupe – is the first of its kind to race on gravel in the region. The car was restored in 2015 and is powered by 3.0 litre, boxer flat 6 engine.

Harold will not have his usual co- driver Bobby Maharaj with him for this event. He will be teaming up with Tammy Lashley out of Barbados; the two raced together in Rally Jamaica.

There has never been a shortage of talk and action between these two drivers.  The stage is set for battle and the winner will be decided on the gravel this weekend!
