Okay I’ll admit, this one was tough. Been stressing out over some stuff the past few days, a poor night’s sleep before the event and then to deal with this DEVIL of an AutoX course. I was in trouble!

My first two runs were beyond face palm worthy, thankfully those first few runs were cancelled (for everyone) due to a few errors in the course. They were then rectified and our run group was allowed to re-do our morning runs. Thankfully!

I began getting the hang of the course and as my times dropped between runs I become more focused and less fazed on my non-AutoX issues. At this point I can begin to retract my “DEVIL of an AutoX course” statement, granted yes it was the most technical of the year, but after a few runs muscle memory comes in and it’s all good fun after that.

That being said I didn’t flow through as smoothly as I would have liked but I damn well tried. Even experimented with some left foot braking to keep it tidy through the slaloms. Thanks for the challenge Creative Auto Recreational Sports!

Final Position: 2nd Place in Class (EPR) [Best Time: 52.519s]

Managed to maintain 1st place for 5 out of 6 runs, but was eventually bested by Anil Mack in his EG Civic for 1st place in the end. A 0.6s gap between us, that could have possibly been made up with some more testicular fortitude on my part to push the limits through a sketchy flying finish- but oh well.

Maybe even ditching the ballast, Liam, would have helped- had his ~110lbs self in shotgun for all competition runs.
