Calypso Racing Community Shines Bright at ASRA’s Final Bathurst Endurance

History was made on Wednesday as the Association of Sim Racing America (ASRA) held its final sim-racing endurance event at the legendary Mt. Panorama Circuit. In a thrilling showdown on the iRacing Simulator, Calypso Racing Community (CRC) left an indelible mark with an extraordinary performance that will be talked about for a long time!

With 16 of the world’s finest sim racers vying for glory, CRC brought their A-game, represented by an exceptional quartet: Andrew Marsan, Akeem Romany, Hylon Ochoa, and Declan “Cali” Daniel. The gruelling 43-lap race tested skill, endurance, and resilience, as soaring track temperatures of 50°C pushed competitors and machines to their limits.

The race began dramatically when Akeem Romany faced a massive crash on the treacherous descent down the mountain. Through no fault of his own, Romany’s race nearly ended in disaster. But in true CRC spirit, he clawed his way back into contention after pitting for crucial repairs, proving that grit and determination define champions.

Meanwhile, Declan Daniel delivered a masterclass in racing, showcasing precision and perseverance to take the checkered flag in 1st place! Andrew Marsan and Hylon Ochoa kept CRC’s momentum strong, finishing in 4th and 5th respectively, cementing the team’s dominance on one of the world’s most challenging circuits. Romany’s hard-fought 13th place finish epitomized resilience in the face of adversity.

“This victory means so much to all of us at CRC. It’s a reflection of our team’s hard work and dedication, and we’re incredibly proud to have shared this journey together,” said a CRC representative after the race. “Taking on Bathurst and coming out on top in ASRA’s final event is something we can all be proud of.”

As the curtain falls on ASRA’s illustrious sim racing endurance series, CRC’s unforgettable performance at Bathurst is a fitting tribute to the legacy of virtual motorsport. Congratulations to Declan Daniel, Andrew Marsan, Hylon Ochoa, and Akeem Romany for flying the T&T flag high and making history!
