Cars and Coffee: Flood Relief Drive

Cars and Coffee: Flood Relief Drive

With so much devastation caused by last week’s flooding, it seems the country has been united in the common goal of helping those less fortunate.  The guys from Cars & Coffee TT also did their part, by reaching out to their growing community of car enthusiasts.  They held a flood relief donation drive on October 28 at Starbucks, Xtra Plaza, and encouraged everyone in their network to stop by, have a coffee, and donate something to the cause.  Digital Broadcast, which operates the huge digital billboard on the Xtra Plaza compound offered free ad space to advertise the event as well.  Many familiar faces, as well as a few new ones heeded the call, as clothing, food, cleaning supplies, toiletries and other items were packed into the truck provided by Lube-Tech Sales and Services Ltd.  The Drift Shenanigans crew also came down in support, as did some of the familiar automotive photographers, including Zeus Edwards, David Persad and Lyden Thomas.

Cars & Coffee TT teamed up with The Drug Store in Rio Claro (yes that’s the actual name) for distribution of hampers to those in need.  The team from The Drug Store, some of whom live in flood-stricken Mafeking village, has been giving all their spare time in aid of those in need, since the Ortoire river burst its banks.  With everything donated through Cars & Coffee, they were able to prepare 80 hampers overnight for distribution.

The Cars & Coffee team would like to thank everyone who made generous donations, as well as Lube-Tech Sales and Services Ltd., The Drug Store in Rio Claro, Digital Broadcast, Starbucks and TriniTuner.
