San Fernando City Mayor Junia Regrello expressed his support for more family type events in future celebrations by the City Corporation. The Mayor was speaking at the special auto expo event on Sunday 11, November 2018 at Cross Crossing, San Fernando. Mayor Regrello said, “The City Corporation is looking to include this as part of the annual event in San Fernando as we appreciate the efforts of businessman Aleem Ali from Barely Legal Customizing for helping make this a success.”

Mayor Regrello said, “I`m very pleased to see the turnout today. What we have here is a family type event and I wish to support more of this for our monthly celebrations with the City Corporation. The streets were cordoned off to accommodate the large crowds and we had adequate police presence. I would also like to thank all members of the south business community for taking part in this. We are seeing the support from Minister Kazim Hosein, Local Government and Rural Development, the South Chamber of Commerce and others.”

The auto expo was free to the public and offered a variety of areas for viewing such as motorsport, luxury and custom rides, off road, vintage classic models, tyres, audio and performance products. Derek Smith, classic car collector was impressed with the event. He said, “It is the biggest car event I have ever seen here. I am happy for this kind of collaboration effort from the City Corporation and Aleem Ali. It helps to foster the kind of environment we need to build more family spirit which is what we should be aiming for right now. It also sends a positive message that more south businesses can start looking to invest in these types of initiatives.”

According to Mayor Regrello, the listing of events for the month of November continue to span across the scope of art, music, sport, fashion and will culminate with a big concert featuring Jamaican reggae star Chronixx.
