Practice makes perfect? Damn straight it does! Though the first Drift Motion is still a month away TTDA couldn’t allow their competitors to get rusty. Solution? Pre event practice! A whole day of it! And the weather couldn’t be better- bi polar, sunny one minute and rainy the other giving the entrants experience in not so ideal conditions…and also aided in saving tires.
The action saw many new faces as they were trained on the drift circles and figure 8’s before going on to the more advanced maneuvers. With these designated areas marked, the rest of the track was open for the more advanced guys to tackle…and they did just that…with many 2nd and often 3rd gear drifting, easily in excess of 100kmh.
2016 brings with it a Drift Motion Championship Series for the beginner and advanced class. These events will be tabulated on a best of 4 system, to determine the king of Drift Motion. With rumors of an insane grand prize of a fully built drift car and other great prizes, this championship battle will be an incredibly awesome sight.
And by now you should know TTDA is full of banter- have some giggles!
