Blown Head Gasket Question

In need of an engine block and a guy has one which came off of an engine which blew a head gasket.

Would this be safe to buy?

What should I inspect on the block, to have an idea if it is good?

I just want some advice guys, so feel free to comment.

Re: 4G92 MIVEC CONVERSION

IMHO the best option would be to get a mivec head and block for the following reasons: -mivec block uses different pistons to the sohc block for different compression ratios. In reality that means you will have to most likely buy a mivec block just for the pistons - mivec block has oil squirters in ...

Re: tiptronic transmission HELP WANTED

He didn't state if it's cvt or not, i still have an inkling that it's the invecs that's probably confusing him. i agree.. the tranny cpu "learns" your driving style and adjusts shift points based on this as well as throttle position.. reset the brain and see if there are any changes... if...

Re: engine job parts

QuickPc's is right... that engine would need alot of work... best to get the dohc... but if you looking for the engine rebuild kit check diamond motors Since this engine is old and obviously high mileage just installing bearings and gaskets on a worn surface would be a problem itself.. This means fo...

Re: engine job parts

What i believe u need is engine rebuild kit; comes with seals, gaskets, connecting rod bearings and main bearings, rings valve seals and a few other parts. But in the first place what is your reason for doing all this work? Depending on the problem you may not need to do all of that.. What exactly i...

mivec 2009: What sort of problems are you having with your engine that you find it necessary to swap. In my opinion the 4993t is very difficult to source let alone finding parts in the event of any failures. Maybe you should consider performing an overhaul on your present engine and box, this way y...
