Re: The Tobago Ferry Boat Scandal!!!

Galleons Passage has not yet left China - they seem to have some problem with the engines and/or the steering.

Check its speed and track at https://www.vesselfinder.com/?imo=9772888

At 5 knots (its average speed for the last few days) it will take 2 or 3 months to arrive in Trinidad.

Re: Wallerfield to be revived for CMRC Regional Racing

Some photos of the track I took earlier today - Friday 8th August - showing that a lot of essential work remains to be done. As reinforced concrete takes around 28 days to set properly the immediate execution of all the necessary repairs is now extremely important. Also, use of earth berms around th...

Re: Arima Grand Prix 2014... EVENT CANCELLED

I don't suppose anyone agrees with the explanation given for the cancellation of this event, so if this sort of thing is to be prevented in future the true cause of the problem needs to be determined. Was it: 1. Police don't like motor racing 2. Police don't like people who go motor racing 3. Police...

Re: Arima Grand Prix 2014... EVENT CANCELLED

Trinidad Grand Prix 2014 in Arima cancelled by the Chief of Police due to the risk of MURDER and CRIME.

This will be good for the Sports Tourism Thrust of the Government of Trinidad & Tobago

What utter nonsense that will only encourage racing on the road.

Re: New Tarouba Motor Sports Complex

OK - http://www.horizonmotorsports-tt.com/ But they don't seem to have a racing circuit - they are just using Camden Airfield. They could be one of the beneficiaries of a really good motorsports complex. So far as I know there are only three obvious sites with adequate land for a decent motorsports ...

Re: New Tarouba Motor Sports Complex

That's not accurate - we can pave roads locally but we have to use a proper specification. Most of the highways are lasting OK - its the local roads which are not properly constructed or which are dug up and not properly repaired by the utility companies that produce most of the potholes and bumps. ...

Re: New Tarouba Motor Sports Complex

Of course it needs to be developed over time, but right now Tarouba is just a drain on taxpayer resources and a very visible eyesore. With a 20 year renewable lease the necessary funds could be procured to develop something like this over the next 10 to 15 years. We have the expertise and the intere...

Re: New Tarouba Motor Sports Complex

Have we no vision - rather that having a useless unused stadium that is just deteriorating at huge expense to tax payers, lets push to turn it into a really exciting motorsport complex at NO COST TO GOVERNMENT. Can we not envision something like this of which T&T could be really proud ? croppedi...

New Tarouba Motor Sports Complex

Why doesn't Government allow Autosport (or some other entity) to turn Tarouba Stadium into a modern Motorsports Complex. It is ideal for the following reasons: 1. It is close to the highway and noise would not be a problem. 2. There is plenty of land nearby to create a really interesting undulating ...

Re: VALVOLINE AutoSport Drag + Time Attack II - Aug 21st

The closeness of the upcoming racing is what will make it particularly interesting, but on Sunday the Cobra was generally away first but lost out further down the straight as both cars tried to put full power down - check the available photos for confirmation. Its hard to say exactly how much peak p...

Rallyman, your car is amazing and beautiful. But, I dunno if you will be able to catch Papparazzi. That GTR just jumps up and goes. Its quite an amazing sight to see how fast that big car can leave the line. Looking forward to that rematch though. 8-) On straight line performance both cars will pro...

Re: VALVOLINE AutoSport Drag + Time Attack II - Aug 21st

Cobra is fixed - a photo of the culprit is included below. I forgot to insert this valve in the brake booster line and so most of the engine boost bled off via the brake booster. Unfortunately this problem only developed on the way to the start at Arima on Sunday so there was no time to diagnose and...

Thanks for some great competition and for great comradarie - next time I think it should be very close as your car proved extremely fast but I am confident the Cobra on full power can compete with it. The lack of boost dropped peak power significantly. This problem will be fixed before the nex...

Re: VALVOLINE AutoSport Drag + Time Attack II - Aug 21st

Yes the Cobra and its engine are in Trinidad and will be competing on Sunday. The car weighs approx 2,200 lbs and the engine produces just over 800 bhp and 650 lbs/ft of torque. It's about 3 times the power to weight ratio of a Lancer Evolution or a Subaru WRX. 100_0069.jpg 100_0137.jpg See also the...

Re: [BLOG]: Barbados plans $multi-million motor-racing compl

The design previously proposed would be too intrusive into areas now being used for buildings, but there is so much land it would be fairly simple to allocate other areas that can easily be developed for motorsport. If there is any real will to have a proper motorsport facility then the Government c...

Re: [BLOG]: Barbados plans $multi-million motor-racing compl

I don't see the two activities at Wallerfield being unable to work together. I raced many times on Belgian tracks constructed on similar estates - and look what they do at Monaco. It just needs to be designed in a suitable way with removable armco etc. In any case, the land area at Wallerfield (arou...
