Re: ***NISSAN B12 CLUB***

leon britto is it the foreign used model b12? I'm not well versed in transmission oil coolers but I do have a foreign used b12 which I recently converted to QG15DE. I'm using the same stock radiator with it. It's not the original Nissan brand one but a stock replacement. The original one was leakin...

Re: Advice On Low Budget Set Up Please

Actually those are two completely different terms.RMS (statistical measurement of ROOT MEAN SQUARE) power is that of consistent usable power output from your amplifier. To make this work well, simply choose speakers that can handle around 20-30% less rated RMS wattage than what you have to offer. Le...

Re: How Much Wire?

Don't mean to hijack the thread but since we're on the topic of tweeters I'd like to know, can normal 1" tweeters like the power Acoustik nb1 be run directly from the HU output? All four outputs are connected to speakers in my car, so I was thinking about connecting the tweeters off from the tw...

Re: Advice On Low Budget Set Up Please

Thanks SR. How much does a pair of good 6.5" coaxials go for?
Also, recently I saw a pair of Boss 600w 6x9 in a store for $350. Not sure if it was 2way, 3way, etc (does this matter though?). Is this a good brand, and subsequently, a good price?

Advice On Low Budget Set Up Please

Fellow tuners, I would like to get some advice/feedback on installing a super low budget sound system in my B12 please. Wire and install costs are already covered... For a head unit, I'm looking at either a Pioneer DEH-1300MP($600-$700) or DEH-7300BT($1200-$1300). The front doors can accommodate 6-6...

Re: BARS headlight cleaner

I uses Sonax. Works OK. And then put on a Mother's wax to protect. It not really lasting though. I tried the Turtle Wax thing, and it helped get out some deep scratches from the previous owner's dog. But it still didn't have a nice final clarity, so I used a meguiars buffing pad, with a drill, and ...

Re: ***NISSAN B12 CLUB***

Thanks! I figured it may be the temperature sender unit so I took the one from my old b12 ga15s engine and placed it in the new engine. I was wondering though if the readings I'm getting now are correct. At normal use the gauge is at exactly half. However in standstill traffic, stop and go, a/c on, ...

Anyone knows where I could get an instrument panel for the B12 and the avg price? I did the conversion and now my tachometer not working at all. Temperature gauge also seems to be reading incorrectly.

Re: B12 GA15 rebuild or swap?

No no I had replaced the original ga15s compressor earlier with the b14 one, ga15de. I believe my alternator is ga15s model though, I really didn't know the belts were different in the qg or else I would've taken the complete engine. As for the tranny, I have one from a b13/b14 iirc in it right now(...

I had repaired my a/c last year and put in a b14 compressor, so that should hold up.

Re: B12 GA15 rebuild or swap?

Dred my camshaft break this last weekend. Sigh.
F.U. places wanted $2000 for carbureted b13 head and block, $3200 for b14 engine. I end up taking a QG15DE. $2500 complete engine but I get it for $2000 without alternator and compressor since I could use back mine.
You think that's a good deal?

B12 GA15 rebuild or swap?*UPDATE*

I recently bought a f.u. B12 with stock GA15S carbureted engine and now it's burning oil. It's my first car so I would like to know if it would make sense to just rebuild the engine with new piston rings, re-bore cylinder walls, etc. or replace it altogether with a newer engine. What would be costs ...
