H22a, real ting, it's a honda so wiring is not too far placed, great power, no cutting, whoever chops up yuh civic to put one in doh know what he doing. Plus you keep ac and ps, what more you want? Plus cheaper and easier to find than B18c or B16a, some minor suspension changes and you good to go.

X2, that is probably true, didn't think of it like that the d16y8 engine was vtec, so no issues, but, I eventually replaced the coil with an external coil, but getting back to what cleriq was asking, it would be good to have on handy, honda internal coils can sometimes be troublesome.

ITB's on B16/B18/H22?

Is anyone currently trying this? From what I have read so far, can use TWM ITB intake ( expensive ) or CBR,hyabusa, ITB's and make up a manifold to fit, still may need an aftermarket ECu to make it work, if not using cbrr itb's, have been done not using aftermarket ecubut witha piggyback, vafc. What...

Val, same kinda thing with mine, vtec does not engage when the engine is cold, the ecu looks for a few things, like engine coolant temp, rpm and vehicle speed, combined with map sensor. Standing still, the cams would not engage on my car revving all the way up, I have since changed that, but the ecu...

Be real careful putting on the KS, real easy to break the wire housing, there is a special socket to use for it. Because it is on the block itself, the heat transfered to it is intense, so the plastic gets really brittle, but before you buy one, check if the wire is damaged first, make sure the sens...

FPR and upgraded fuel pump is a good start, when your throttle is wide open and the engine is under load, sometimes pressure goes down, causes general loss of power, too much fuel pressure and you cant burn it. It's always about tweaking and experimenting. Plus it's always the combination of upgrade...

Dude, you have a nice setup, but as X2 said, your setup may need tweaking, maybe grippier tyres, some heavier springs in front, etc. Keeping it in Vtec? Yeah good idea, but remember, you have to leave the line quick, check your 60ft times, wheel spin may be hurting but with your setup as is, you wil...

Skidmarqs, the more you race, the more you will learn, and you will learn from the other drivers. Concentrate on being consistent ( I am still struggling at this), and you will get faster, and have fun while you do it. :D

Turbo, how about a supercharged K20A2? these guys from tts-performance did it, using a Danish supercharger company called Rotrex. If I am not mistaken, there are a couple of electrical issues there as well, ie some solenoids on the auto that have to be played with so the ECU ( auto ) does not go into hysterics. But you don't absolutely need a manual ecu to do this conversion. factor in some cash for that and an electrician.

Interesting, I thoughts bikes did this by killing the engine for a split second. The Hondata does that? Works on H22A? Ichecked the site and looks like they dont support my ECU. Performance Tyres

Guys, just looking for some feedback on a good trackday tyre ( no an all out gummy slick ). I have looked at the Nitto NT01 but there is also the Hankook, Kumho Victoracer etc. I am really looking to see if if anyone has used them in Trinidad ( or any other ). My application is mainly for drags but ...
