Re: Old School Projects

Will install a wideband to tune them. Have to get a new sensor first. Idle jets and main venturi are in the ballpark of what is needed. May not run the car for the rest of the year.

Re: Incorrect classing of cars at Solodex

Car in question was properly scrutinized. MBC was not connected. Coilovers contributed to the class bump to SS. Driver says the MBC is only used in D&W. The rules are not perfect and they do need review. Personally, I believe a car straight out of the showroom should not have any penalties attac...

Does anyone know the cost of a folding tent? A 6×6 tent can be set up in the marshalling area. Renting a tent for marshalls at every event will be expensive.

Re: What offset for autocross?

offset depends on your driving style. Low offset all around will corner well but steering is twitchy on the straights. Low offset in front alone gives you oversteer but steering is still twitchy. If you have different offset wheels you should try the combinations during the bycc to see which you pre...

WTK : Eyebolt for Tow Hook

Installed a new front valance on my car and the existing tow hooks are now too far back to be used. I prefer to use an eye bolt for the new tow hook mainly because it has a more understated look than the after-market aluminum ones. This is what the original ones look like (280zx). http://forums.trin...

Drifting with TORSEN lsd?

Is it possible? My car is built mainly for grip driving and this is the cheapest lsd swap right now. There is mixed reviews on the net. Anyone use this?

DX wagon power loss

Having a strange problem with my DX wagon. It would start ok on mornings and idle well and run normally for about 2-3 minutes then it would suddenly loose power for about 1 minute and then run normally afterward. Check light does not come on and the idle is not affected. Engine is a 5E-FE with the t...

Re: WTK: Rewiring L28E

The oem jacks used the single spade lugs inside the plastic. The old lugs can be removed with a needle nose pliers and new ones inserted. There's a tab on the back of the lug that locks it in place.

Unless you are buying jacks from painless they are almost impossible to find.

Re: WTK: Rewiring L28E

I used the painless fuse box when I rewired my Z but I also converted to carbs. My efi harness was later stolen. The engine harness would be easy to make yourself. You can buy wires by the foot from Lenny Sumad. Remove your harness and just make an identical copy. The pins on all the jacks except th...

Re: WTK: Rewiring L28E

I was told that the RB 20 brain and harness could work on the l28e. You could look into that.

The existing harness could be rebuilt but the problem would be finding replacement jacks as I'm sure the original ones are brittle and corroded.

RB box on L28

Is this simple as just swapping the bell housing. No machining required? (dogleg box to RB)

There's mention of doing this in other threads but no details on the swap.

Can anyone shed some more light on this.

Re: SR20VE RPM switch problem

My mistake- the switches and shift light are connected to pin 2 along with a remote start module. I just tried connecting it to pin 3 and the switches work without affecting the tach but while idling one switch turns on erratically and throws off the idle. I'll try building a filter for pin 3 and se...
