WTK: EK4 2000 SiR 'D4' Light on dash blinking.......URGENT

Hey guys, need some advice urgently. I've a 2000 Model EK4 SiR civic.
The 'D4' light in the dash started blinking yesterday evening.
Would like to know what's causing this, whether it be a faulty sensor, whether it needs to be scanned, if so or not, who can i go to reliably sort this out........

IF YOUR CAR is an automatic watch out!!! your transmission could be going thru....
If its a manual conversion any auto electrician can solve that probs.. its usually two wires that have to connect and they are found close to the automatic shifter harness... [/color]

Depends.. when my vehicle speed sensor was going bad (auto) the d4 light used to blink regularly...\

There is a website which details all the Honda D4 blink codes.. Its linked somewhere on honda-tech..

The car is an original automatic. While driving it (D4) started blinking continuously.
I took out the jacks above the tranny, sprayed them with contact cleaner, pluged them back on, also took out the battery pole for bout ten mins.
The blinking has sinced stopped, hopefully for good.

If it comes back check your transmission solenoid.

could be your speed sensor going bad. my d4 started blinking in my civic with the speedometer dancing all over the place like it was going crazy. changed the speed sensor and the speedo stopped jumping and D4 stopped blinking.

the d4 will blink if the speed sensor is going bad b/c the transmission doesnt know when to change gears i was told.
