ok, guys which engine is better ?
forgetting the price of each
the b18c is 195/200hp-138ft-lbf vs f20b 200hp-145ft-lbf

more rpm on the b18 and less on the f20 but more torque on the f20 than the b18

correct me if i stated anything wrong

so lets hear..

Wasn't this compared before?

There's no better engine. Both engines came with different models for different purposes. If they were limited to the same chassis from factory the comparison would make alot more sense.

Now, the B18c is the platform I'd choose, depending on the chassis and I'm assuming that you're thinking civic. Don't get me wrong the F20B is a great engine, with a rich history of racing also (Mugen 300+hp JTCC car and F3 race cars), but for an all round great performer (READ: great straightaways and superb vehicle handling) it's hard to beat the B18CR in the lighter chassis.

Back in the day, when everyone was running the B series there was hardly any support for the H and F series as they came stock in heavy chassis that everyone shyed away from. Now things are different, a lot of hybrids are emerging now with lots of support for these engines, and all motor H series engines doing low 11's and high 10's in EG/ EK street trim. I'd still choose the B18CR because it can pull similar numbers at the strip based on any relevant combination of it's vast aftermarket support and it's even more nimble around the circuit too. The F20B is also a high revving engine but it was just made for a heavy ass car (Accord SiR-T/ Torneo).

I'd do the same if the main focus was drag racing, but I prefer an all round performer, so the B18CR in a light chassis gives me wood   My current car is 3000lbs and built around Touring....that's why she breathes through an H

are u comparing bhp... or availability of mods... stock for stock the f20b has more bhp however the gear ratio is a major fundamental factor one should consider when comparing.. the f20b is faster but b18c is more reliable

On what basis would you judge reliability, i would simply go f20b with an H2B adapter to use a b series lsd gear box for the better ratios but what determines which route to take is determined by the purpose for the build.......... :?:

based on what ive researched the f20b block is stronger with its iron sleeves and stronger rods so reliable boosting is poosible without block work. the stock rpm of the b18cr is higher but there are does who say that the f20b can rev to 9000 but was limited to 8200 because the gearbox was not able to take that much and be reliable. therefore a f20b h2b would be able to give the b18cr a run for its money with the b series lsd gearbox
